The worst part of the torture bill is apparently a majority support Bush |
|
how has that happened? I can't believe my fellow Americans believe we should torture people.
The most religious country in the west is the one pushing for torture.
Explain that to me.

1. Where's the PROOF that a majority supports Little Lord Pissypants? |
|
I'm not questioning you. I'm just wondering how "accurate" any "polling" numbers really are. Let's not forget a pollster pleaded GUILTY to fraud as early as last week, right?

but, I don't think Rove is dumb and I don't think he would be pushing this if he didn't think Americans supported it.
If Bush is wrong, and a majority support McCain et al, isn't this a huge risk before election? I don't buy that the whole thing is calculated to show not all republicans are in lock step with the prez. I think Bush is pushing it because he knows/thinks Americans are in favor of torture and secret prisons.
Maybe if someone explained to him that this is what our enemies do...Gulags, South American dictators, Japanese POW camps, Hitler.
I guess we have our answer to the idea that a certain percentage would still support Bush if he ate a live baby on TV. (This is not far off, in my opinion.)

ESPECIALLY if he didn't think Americans supported it- He's got the people figured out. Tell everyone that "everyone" believes ___________ and even those who didn't believe ________ will step away from thier senses, and follow the 'flock'- even if it is to thier deaths. Unfortunately, people tend to want to 'conform' especially after they've gotten through thier teens-
I don't believe 'polls' or 'estimates' any longer. We've been lied to, manipulated, and taken to the cleaners by the government too many times for them to be trusted.-- That is what happens when you lie, people don't believe you even when you are telling the truth.
Bush is pushing it, because he's scared that they'll lose in Nov. and if we get control, he just might be held 'responsible' for a lot of things he doesn't want to have to account for- Listen to his speeches. What he rants on about 'the enemy' about, are what he most wants to avoid having to face himself.- "Responsibility" is a biggie- even in his Rose Garden press confrence.
Lets ask the "boss" to set the example eh? Whether he wants to or not???

11. He is PUSHING this because he doesn't want to be tried as a war criminal! |
|
He KNOWS he has violated his oath of office and he knows that a vast percentage of the American people KNOW that, too. He has broken our laws and International Law. Crimes against humanity. We don't need any "clarification" on that one, do we? Nobody does.

Don't think that religion excludes torture.
I think that people who support torture don't understand two things. 1. They wouldn't want to be tortured, and apparently can't imagine it happening to themselves. 2. It doesn't work. People will say anything to stop the pain.

They want anyone tortured who might hurt them. Death is the last thing Christians want to face. Why? Afraid of facing Christ, the pacifist?
So much for our moral compass and higher moral authority. Like Sean Hannity said, rip off Saddam's nails until he tells us where the WMD's are. Stupid asses.
