Right-Wing Media, Left-Wing Media, You can't make anybody happy anymore |

I thought it was hilarious re-reading an article this weekend in FP Magazine about the "Al Jazeera" news network in their "Think Again" section. It's considered by Bush and Rumsfeld as "Terrorist TV" while at the same time it's viewed by quite a few Arab and Muslim religious leaders as being "Musad Media" and is being secretly funded by the Musad, Bush and the CIA. Al Jazeera is actually the closest thing to free speech in the Mideast and they've been trying to start up a global news network with journalists of all religions and nationalities to compete with CNN, FOX and the BBC. Ironically the only nation throwing up the most obstacles is the one who says they are all for freedom of speech and the press.

1. Like the old saying goes: |
|
You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
Or as the Bush administration likes to think of it.
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and that's the people we need to focus on.

2. A little off topic . . . |

A few years ago Anderson Cooper did a quick session on bias in the media. All he did, really, was state that both liberals & conservatives called & wrote constantly about how the network was biased on x show. He read several letters with complaints about the same show. It was interesting to hear. I could totally relate to what the liberal letters expressed & I howled at the conservative ones. In the end, after tallying several hundred letters, Cooper said that the complaints were about half & half lib vs con.
The real kicker was, he concluded that the media must be doing their job ok since they were getting even complaints from both sides.
:wtf:

3. Not off topic, good points |

I'm a big NPR fan and I constantly hear that's it's "right-wing", sometimes I even hear that after listening to over an hour of blistering criticism against Bush, the war, New Orleans, or the abuses at the Guantanamo Prison. Maybe NPR has a secret RW frequency with a different program schedule than the one I listen to that you can only find on the back of a GOP member card :hi:

Every news network known to mankind and news shows like 60 minutes, including Andy Rooney himself had a field day with the Clinton/Lewinsky fiasco.
