I missed the Macaca "football" thing.
What the hell does being a football fan have to do with anything? Football fans, enlighten me what he was trying to do...

1. Allen kept saying "I'm from a football family"
Whenever Russett asked him a difficult question on Meet the Press yesterday. Jim Webb won the debate.

2. Just a guess here.
George Allen the asshole politician is the son of George Allen, one-time head coach of the Los Angeles Rams and the Washington R--skins. That might have something to do with it.

4. I can't help you there.
I still remember one Virginia Tech game broadcast as the magnificent Mike Vick took off for yet another eye-popping scamper. One of the formerly impartial television commentators began yelling, "Take his legs out! Take his legs out!"

Football is a fun sport which I enjoy, but I don't go to the football well for moral guidance, and I wouldn't trust anyone who does.

5. After watching the clip on crooksandliars...
it seemed he was repeatedly bringing up the football thing in trying to say football is not racist, that football is an equal opportunity thing, blah, blah, blah, therefore, he cannot be a racist because he is from a football family.

It seems he is channeling bush's nonsensical rationalization technique, that being baffle them with bullshit so much they will "forget" the question.

6. Well his "family" certainly doesn't like him.
Jennifer Allen wrote a book that describes him as a little monster as a child. Almost the Bad Seed come to life. She certainly doesn't speak kindly of her brother, and she ought to know.

Here is a link to Amazon if you want to buy it. Seems it is selling very well and there are only three books left.
