6. Netadvocates is a group set up by Scaife's Newsmax
It hires people to post GOP ideas on the net.

10. That's kind of a bizarre jump
Perhaps some do. But are you accusing Southernleftylady and mwb970 of being in that category? both of post counts over 1000 and both have the star next to their name.

Or let me ask it another way - isn't it possible that some honest members of DU might be frustrated with how things are going over at AAR?

11. Could be that some listeners are frustrated....
no more frustrating that 15 threads about how suck-ass AAR is or that "I heard it was bankrupt...""Drudge says AAR...""Some say that AAR... blaa blaa"

Don't you wonder sometimes?

12. I do
When everybody does the same thing it does strike me as wierd - and not always about this particular subject. That said, there's really no way to know, and making wild accusations doesn't strike me as a productive strategy.

That said, if there were a list of top 100 DU members likely to be netvocate spies, I would assume I would be somewhere on that list. So that might be coloring my opinion.

8. Netvocates...
http://www.netvocates.com/

http://www.cybersoc.com/2006/05/behind_netvocat.html

"...blogs frequently impact an organization and its products and image in uncontrolled and often unexpected ways. In addition, the sheer volume of blogs, message boards, and other discussion forums makes it difficult for organizations to effectively monitor the activity relevant to them."

"NetVocates then recruits activists and consumers who share the client’s views in order to reinforce those key messages on targeted blogs – and rebut misinformation when appropriate."
