Oh no! Willie's been busted
Edited on Mon Sep-18-06 02:38 PM by simskl
Willie Nelson and his bud's caught carrying 1.5 lb of herb and some magic shrooms. I know some people that are going to want to back up his band in the future.

Gotta be careful with that stuff, Tommy Chong had to do 9 months just for trying to sell a bong. I don't know about LA but there are some States where possession will get you almost as much time as robbing a 7-11. No wonder the jails are so full.

7. One thing for certain...
WILLIE NELSON

Blackjack booted demons
Have surrounded my home
Got dogs and 'copters
and keep ringing my phone

Well I don't know if I'm coming or going
If it's them or me
Oh, but one things for certain
Willie Nelson only smokes the killer weed

Now they're breaking my windows
Banging on my doors
Got me down and hog-tied
Rifling through my drawers
Boss demon tells me
Oh how he would like to kill me
Wait a minute tough guy
My disease does that for free

Well I don't know if I'm coming or going
If it's them or me
Oh, but one things for certain
Willie Nelson only smokes the killer weed
Well I don't know if I'm coming or going
If it's them or me
Oh, but one things for certain
Willie Nelson only smokes the greenest green
Well I don't know if I'm coming or going
If it's them or me
Oh, but one things for certain
Willie Nelson only smokes the killer weed

amount of weed being smoked on Willie's bus. My husband looked at me and said, "Is he trying to get Willie busted or what?" Sure sounded like it.

10. Why was his bus stopped in the first place? DWW? Cops know there's

a good chance they'll get to bring more people into the criminal injustice system if they spot a famous person's car/bus/van & pull it over with or without probably cause to justify searching it and planting evidence in it if can't find anything during the search. PLUS, whenever the cop gets back to the cop shop, s/he can brag to the other piggies about "what it was like to bust Willie".

just the smell of weed gives the pigs probable cause so they can search for the drugs they are really after. Coke, crank, etc.

11. Pretext
I would like to know the pretext the cops used for stopping Willie. Less than 2 weeks ago, some country singer was on Colbert saying he smoked with Willie on Willie's bus. It was funny, but I had a bad feeling for Willie. I figured the RW nuts would inform the cops about "Willie's Bus" and use some pretext to pull the bus over. Even if common knowledge that Willie is smoking, no need to out him and his bus. Best of luck Willie.

24. Tommy Chong took the rap for his son and wife.
NPR: Tommy Chong: Free, and Back on the Road
Fresh Air from WHYY, February 7, 2005 ·

Comedian Tommy Chong. As one half of the comedy duo Cheech and Chong, Tommy Chong made a career out of making jokes about being stoned. Along with Cheech Marin, Chong recorded six gold comedy albums and starred in seven films. He currently has a recurring role on FOX TV's That '70s Show. The role comes after Chong spent nine months in prison; he pleaded guilty to conspiring to sell drug paraphernalia.

Chong's arrest was part of the U.S. Justice Department's Operation Pipe Dreams investigation of Internet distribution of drug paraphernalia like bongs and marijuana pipes. Chong says he pleaded guilty to protect his son, whose company was targeted. Chong is now on his first tour since leaving prison, performing in the play The Marijuana-Logues. An upcoming reunion will take place between Chong and his long-time partner Cheech Marin.

Almost busted in Laredo,
But for reasons that I'd rather not disclose,
But if you're stayin' in a motel there and leave,
Just don't leave nothin' in your clothes.

And at the airport in Milwaukee,
They refused to let us board the plane at all,
They said we looked suspicious,
But I believe they like to pick on me and Paul.

Here we go again .......

58. How Willie will avoid prison... TEAMWORK!
from the Louisville Courier-Journal:

Williams said when the trooper entered the doorway of the vehicle, he immediately smelled marijuana. After searching the bus, the trooper confiscated one and a half pounds of marijuana and two-tenths of a pound of mushrooms.

The quantity of drugs, if found in possession of one person, is enough to warrant a charge of distribution, which is a felony. But Williams said all five people on the bus, including Nelson, claimed the drugs as their own, and so they were each charged with misdemeanors.

Also cited were Tony Sizemore, 59, of St. Cloud, Fla.; Bobbie Nelson, 75, of Briarcliff, Texas; Gates Moore, 54, of Austin, Texas; and David Anderson, 50, of Dallas, Texas.

60. It was bound to happen - much as I'd like to blame Toby Keith
I can't. I've never seen anyone as outspoken about his love of weed as Willie. I just read the new bio about him, and it starts out with a story of someone being passed out, while Willie smoked the same stuff and seemingly isn't affected at all.

Interviews with Willie....same thing. I have no doubt that the RW's wanted him busted, but if you know anything at all about Willie, Toby Keith wasn't exactly spilling secrets. I don't like the guy (Keith), but I really doubt it had anything to do with him.

That being said, I DON'T doubt that the Right Wing loonies wanted to get him. I have no doubt that Willie expected it sooner or later, that's why they ALL claimed possession. Willie is a smart guy, I'm sure he knows he's on their shit list, and I'm sure he knows the law, too.

I just think it's funny that they all claimed possession - must have kinda ruined it for the arresting assholes.
