Anybody got that pic of the frog in the veggie bag from yesterday? |
|
I can't find it and my dear deluded neighbor really needs to feast her eyes on this.

13. Looks like an obvious Photoshop job to me....... |
|
The coloring job on the frog is too flat and two-dimensional.

15. I do believe you're right. |

First look at the light reflections on the bag. They're all over the bag, except where the frog is. The only reflections on the frog are reflective highlights on its eyes, but if the light highlighted its eyes there, it would also make highlights on the bag.
Then, check the coloring on the frog, specifically on the brown and green areas. I looked at the RGB values of those colors using Paint Shop Pro. All over the greens area of the picture, RGBs vary quite a bit, with adjacent pixels seldom having identical values. The green and brown areas of the frog, however, have large areas with all pixels being 153-153-51 in the green 147-117-65 in the brown. That would never happen with a natural creature seen through a reflective and distorting material.
Finally, check the coloration on the alien humanoid hand holding the bag. Did they paint that in or what?

17. Turns out, the picture we're seeing here probably isn't the original |
|
The snopes page referenced in post #2 shows a much more realistic photo. There the hand holding the bag looks human and the frog has normal natural variations in the color. I didn't have time or inclination to look at that photo closely, but on first glance it looks at least plausible.

9. I can believe the frog but...alive? That seems to be a stretch. We |
|
used to stop along the road in Florida when we lived there to get boiled peanuts...they are often boiled up in an open pot out in somebody's yard...one day we got a big bag and were driving along eating them and I reached in for another and brought out a little dead tree frog. We had a good laugh over it - no big deal, we like frogs, alive or sauteed. ;-)
