if you went to a busy street in your town and passed out "Impeach"
stickers, how many people do you think would take one?
I think in my (fairly liberal NC) town they would go like hotcakes.
I am guessing that many of us would be surprised at how many takers there might be.

Maybe we ought to test out this theory?

run me off the road after he saw this sticker on my car:

Or at least that's what I think the OP means.

Beyond the idea of democrats being whimps, where would anyone find reason to think republicans are tough guys prone to punching others in public? Strange thinking.

7. Well, if I counted myself
I could probably give out 2 or 3 more. I live in Houston. There's actually some redneck here with a big white Ford or Chevy pickup and a huge American flag in the back that he flies from a pole mounted in the bed of the truck. He drives around town like a lunatic cutting in and out of traffic and blasting Lynyrd Skynyrd from his stereo. So much for the local mindset.

10. No offense...
But you do live in Texas. Sounds like par-for-the-course, I mean it is where most of the sleazy upper echelon of the Repug party comes from and has their voting base.

Its good to know that not everyone there (meaning you AYD) is like that.

29. No, it's not par for the course in Texas.
As much as everyone likes to call things red and blue, it's still just a few measly percentage points of difference. Lots of Texans voted against the BFEE...like 48% of us. It's really disheartening to always be reading disparaging things about Texas, not to jump on you personally. :)

30. No problem
I was generalizing to be humorous, like i said no offense was intended.

It seems that everything is no more than 3-7% different just about anywhere you go. There is no such thing as a clear majority anymore (unless, of course, we are talking about how much we as a people don't like GW, now THERE's a clear majority)

35. Nicely said.
I've also been encouraged by how the w*04 and black w* stickers have been steadily disappearing since the election. No, it's not due to time passing. The faithful here will keep those stickers on their cars forever. Unfortunately for Junior, the faithful are shrinking in numbers here in Texas.

I just wish everyone would remember that Junior hails from Connecticut. All of the big repub names MOVED here, they are not native Texans. The only native bug we have to claim is DeLayTheWalkingPestilence.

AND blue, blue, blue.

I think I would have to stand in front of the largest print shop in my town to make sure I had enough to give everyone that walks by (and it is about 3 blocks form the Naval Shipyard which is the bread&butter of life around here).

Hell, I could probably stand outside the sub-base gate 8 miles from where I work and give out over 5 of 10!

I think I'll go check on the price to have 1000 printed and check it out.

9. Stick fliers between pages of newspapers and put them back in the machines
It's even better with the free newspapers and magazines. You don't have to put money into a machine to take out the whole stack.

I had two successful days of leafleting! 250 copies distributed

On Wednesday I distributed fifty double-sided colored fliers outlining Bush's Katrina failure, and urging calls for his impeachment.

Since it was raining, it wouldn't have made much sense to leave them on windshields.

So, this was my placement strategy:

1) Get a big stack of Boston Metro newspapers out of the machine.

2) Place fliers inside copies of The Metro.

3) Put most of the papers back inside the machine.

4) Take a few away with me.

5) Leave copies of The Metro (with my flier inside) on bus stop benches and in laundromats.

When I happened to come across cars with Democrat bumper-stickers, I took a chance with the rain and left fliers on their windshields. I also left about ten fliers on windshields of cars parked where I knew the owners were likely to return before it started raining-- for example, in the McDonald's parking lot, convenience store, etc.

On Friday, I similarly distributed 200 single-sided black/white copies.

Almost every copy of The Metro at one of Brockton's busiest train stations got a copy of the flier stuck in it.

I also left copies (again) at bus stops and laundromats.

A couple times I ran into groups of High School kids and handed them the fliers directly. I also used the opportunity to tell them that The No Child Left Behind Act requires schools to share their information with military recruiters unless they opt-out.

In any case, I can be reasonably sure that the fliers were staying dry and being read.

Some of the fliers I had left on Thursday were still there on Friday. Nobody had taken them and thrown them away.

In fact, on one flier, someone had actually duplicated the headline in pen-- "It Did Not Have To Happen."

I guess someone read the flier, saw the line, "It Did Not Have To Happen," and were so fixated on it that they felt compelled to write that phrase themselves. And then they put it back on the table where they had found it.

If you're interested in having copies of the fliers for yourself, please message me directly.

16. Last night at a grocery store, I was reading a headline out loud from the
newspaper, and said something like, "Yeah, let's see how you feel when your job is outsourced to India."

The young woman behind the counter grinned and said (in lighthearted sarcasm), "Go Bush! Go!"

I then said something about even fast food drive-through window jobs being outsourced from cities with high wages to cities with lower wages.

She replied, "BUSHWACKED!"

And this is a very Red portion of the state. Your bumper sticker might be more popular than anyone would believe.

I haven't talked to anyone, including Republicans lately who like either Bush. (Some of them hated GW even before the election, but voted for him anyway. :eyes: )

19. breaking the ice
I think once sightings of the impeach message become more common place, then more and more people will take heart and follow.
Sometimes people feel they need 'permission' from others to take a step.
I think it is up to some of us to break the ice.

22. It's hard to say. Very few, I suspect.
I live in freeperville.

I HAVE, however, had 2 men see my anti-Bush bumper stickers on my car when they came here to do some work (separate days, separate companies) and told me how much they liked them.:) THEN, I was sitting at a drive-thru window and a man came to my window, in pouring down rain, to tell me how much he liked my stickers. I also had another man at the grocery store tell me the same thing and the man who delivers our dry cleaning told my husband he loved the bumper stickers too! For THIS VILLAGE......that's a VERY GOOD SIGN! People are much more vocal. I've always felt like the lone wolf here.

28. Seeing as most people are pretty apolitical
and others are rather lukewarm about bush, I'd say it wouldn't get much of a reaction at all. And I live in Texas.

There would probably be a few nutjobs who would try to verbally intimidate and harrass me, but I don't intimidate easily, so they'd have to be on their way.

There would probably be several people who got excited about it and would want to stay in contact with me, LOL.

I got a post-it note on my car door the other day, from a woman saying she loved my bumper stickers. That was nice.

34. Actions are necessary
Speculation is good also.

"Awareness without action is the worst form of complicity"

I forget who wrote that.

Free choice is having the freedom to choose.
In the United States, there is no such freedom. So lets re-frame it from that very aspect and build off the truth.
To make the freedom to choose an actual freedom; the entire system must be overhauled and likely torn up. This starts with boycotts-and nationwide strikes. Do not pretend you have the freedom to choose until; that freedom is actually physically guaranteed.

"We Americans love our freedom; apparently though the freedom to revel in acts of mass murder ranks high upon our list of national pleasures. Nothing new and surprising here, folks: From Wounded Knee to Fallujah, genocide has always been our favorite blood sport. As proof of this, one simply needs to consider the impressive body count of Iraqis that we've rung-up in only two short years of our freedom fructifying crusade in their country. No need for a congressional hearing into this matter: We've rung up the high score without any steroid enhancement."
