Poll question: Is the 2006 Election already stolen
Just out of curiousity.

By already stolen, I mean such that normal and reasonable precautions (the sort that the Democratic Party is likely to take, assuming a reasonable amount of pressure (by which I don't mean, for example, completely revamping our electoral system to eliminate machine counting of votes, for example - the expense involved pushes such a scheme beyond the bounds of normal and reasonable)) cannot and will not prevent Republicans from stealing it.

1. I don't know if it has or hasn't.
However, the fact that it COULD be -- that we've all been shown exactly how these machines can be corrupted -- is a national emergency, IMHO.

2. They Have Too Much At Stake
Think of it as a football game. The home team has CHEATED for 3 Qtrs., and are ahead in the 4th. If they have to cheat 1 more time in order to clinch the game, don't you think they will?

They're NEVER going to let the Dems investigate anything whilst their CRIMINALS are still in office. And then they'll find a way to prevent anything from happening to their precious leader once he leaves.

5. Of course it's stolen -

it's the only way the evil, corrupt, self serving Republican party can "win". They lost the actually last two elections, and they god damn well know it. And if the Dem's sit on their hands and don't put up a fight this time, then maybe they deserve to have the damn elections stolen from them. I'm fed up with this wimpy bull shit, watching my vote go for nothing, and Dem candidates knuckling under to these thugs and criminals.

can live under Dimwit for another two years, this asshole and his handlers will lead us all to hell in a hand basket. These greedy neocon pricks and their dumb ass money grubbing Repuke backers would take the world into world war 3, just to put a few extra dollars in their own pockets.

8. It is VERY tempting
to jump ship....but if there is even a slight chance that we can turn this thing around, then we have to stay and fight for US. We don't want to leave our children with a bigger mess, do we?

10. I am very pessimistic about the Nov election. I was so sure

Bush could not possibly beat Kerry (and I wasn't a Kerry fan). I was so wrong.

Now, everywhere, on all these message boards, it's all about how many people can't stand Bush--even Republicans who voted for him. It doesn't matter.

Gas prices are DOWN for a reason--look at the $2+ drop today! You have to believe that GHWB--Pappa Bush--has been on the phone to the Saudis telling them they have to drop the price of oil and come up with some BS reason for doing so.

I don't believe there will be an October surprise of warfare against Iran or attack on US soil. It would go against the Bushies for that to happen.
Instead, I suspect the Repubs will keep control of the House and Senate.

Boy, do I hope I'm wrong.

Tomorrow we sign the papers to refinace our house--taking out equity that will pay for the house we're building in Panama. I am so sad, and so depressed. I wanted to be retired in Chapel Hill. I don't want to move to Panama. But--I don't want to be in the US when the sky falls--and I think it will if the Bushies maintain control. This economy is in the toilet. We are the world's largest debtor nation. It can't keep going like this--it's bound to collapse. And it will be ugly when it does.

11. It's an "Interesting indicator"
That W is "sure" they're going to hold the Congress. It sure as hell can't be from the rave reviews of the great job he has been doing.
