Who's Afraid of Brokeback Mountain? >>>
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 04:50 PM by Stephanie

(APPLAUSE)

Is that a Washington Nationals hat?

QUESTION: Wisconsin, actually.

BUSH: OK, yes.

QUESTION: "W" is for Wisconsin.

You're a rancher. A lot of here in Kansas are ranchers. I was just wanting to get your opinion on "Brokeback Mountain" if you've seen it yet.

(LAUGHTER)

You would love it. You should check it out.

BUSH: I hadn't seen it. I'd be glad to talk about ranching, but I haven't seen the movie.

(LAUGHTER)

I've heard about it.

(LAUGHTER)

I hope you go, you know...

(LAUGHTER)

I hope you go back to the ranch and the farms is what I was about to say.

(LAUGHTER)

I hadn't seen it.

(LAUGHTER)

(APPLAUSE)

3. I wouldn't soil the viewing of that movie by Lord Pissypants
it's quite alright with me if he never sees it, and I would say that even if I thought it was a B movie.

You can't appeal to the human decency of a sociopath.

Rancher. What a laugh. I'll bet the only kind of cowpokin' old Georgie's ever done is the kind we can't discuss here.

6. Closeted Males on free republic.
Conservatives who drive out of their way to avoid an Army recruiting office. Loud mouth bush supporters who have to convince themselves they are manly men. Young republicans on our college campuses. dick cheney who had to father a lesbian to get out of military service. So sad for him, so wonderful for her. Ken Mehlman. Jeff Christy. And on and on and on.

11. When does this horseshit stop?
"I'd be glad to talk about ranching, ......" bush

WTF does he know about ranching? His cattle are rentals, he can't ride a horse, he can't pound a nail,
and his ranch was built in 1998 for photo ops.

20. What a perfect opportunity for him to say
All I know is if two people love each other as much as I love my wife, how can that be a bad thing?

Yes, I'm dreaming, but man, if he would have said something like that, I'd have been, after I got up from fainting, eternally and exhuberantly supportive, of at least some of his ideas.

We now continue with our regularly scheduled program, Bigotry In The White House.

21. did you read the rest of the transcript?

look at what he discusses right before this question:

BUSH: And that's how I view my advice from Laura.

Plus, she does -- I mean, you know, I said some things -- "Wanted dead or alive" -- and she said, "Well, you might be able to express yourself a little better than that...

(LAUGHTER)

... George W."

And so she's a -- we got a great relationship.

You know, when I married her, she really didn't like politics and didn't care particularly for politicians either, and here she is the first lady of the United States.

And she is -- she's good. Boy, I'll tell you, when she speaks she's very credible because she's a decent, credible person.

And I love her a lot.

(APPLAUSE)

Is that a Washington Nationals hat?

QUESTION: Wisconsin, actually.

BUSH: OK, yes.

QUESTION: "W" is for Wisconsin.
