Are red t-shirts standard GI attire?
If not, what do they mean? Red state?

I thought of wounded soldiers when I noticed them.

1. Marines wear red tshirts with yellow lettering
I assume that's what you're talking about. Video isn't working for me.

10. Tradition?
The only thing that was a tradition by the time I left in 95 was running people up to the CO's office for permanent record entries over stupid stuff.

2. That might be someone's wife next to a marine
But Marines do wear red shirts for physical training and casual non regular uniform events.

3. No, that is not a military person--it is someone with a similar jacket
and a red collared shirt. They wear olive drab tee shirts with their working uniform.

9. When did USN start wearing brown? I retired not too long ago
and we all wore white...save Seabees and Seals, that is.

6. Somebody's idea of dark humor?
I can't get the video, but "redshirt" is a minor colloquialism for cannon fodder. It originated with the TV show "Star Trek" in the '60s, where they would show an anonymous red-clad Security officer getting killed to prove a situation was dangerous. Eventually it became a generic phrase for replacable troops who nobody cares. It's most prevalent among writers and science-fiction fans.

Then again, it may just be somebody wearing a red t-shirt.

7. Not in combat.
The red colors are too easy to notice with all the camoflage.

The video has been edited from the rough, so my eyes may have deceived me, but I thought I saw red t-shirts under camouflage jackets. If I did, those frames are gone.
