Please! Stop Calling RW Talk Shows!
You'll only be made a foll and that will not help the cause.

I don't care how reasoned your argument is, how many facts you have to back it up and how calm you remain.

The deck is stacked against you. You have a better chance of becoming president tomorrow at 6am than of winning an argument with a right wing talk host. I hve heard far to many of us get cut to shreds on the radio. Do not let it happen again! Please!

OK rant off! I feel much better now

5. The problem is...
their laughing at us only makes us look weak and ineffective. It is a far better strategy to win hearts and minds one by one, face to face. Then hope the cheerleaders eventually ask the questions. Concentrate on winning elections by a margin big enough to beat the black boxes.

4. Disagree also
Just take some deep breaths, write a script, whatever to keep calm, but we MUST get our voices out there -- silence only makes the RWNJs think they really ARE in the majority.

7. None of that is effective.
Getting our voicecs heard in that arena is a complete waste of time. Kind of like going into a biker bar and calling the assembled crowd a bunch of pussies. All you do is get beat up for no reason.

13. Not physical slings and arrows, though ... Home of the BRAVE my ass
If we don't stand up to these Thugs, we get what we deserve -- a dismissive, dictatorial government. It's essential to fight back, even if it's a losing battle, just to prove that WE EXIST and do NOT support what this administration is doing.

Which isn't to say that those that listen and call in to comment aren't...just that I can't stomach their crap long enough to listen.

12. I listen to self proclaimed "liberals" and cringe
They never get their facts straight, they are too easily pulled off message by the host and they're much too deferential.

I always get more steamed at the liberal callers who screw up and let the host feel more superior.

16. I agree with you
Like some of the other posters have pointed out, we shouldn't be backing down from these sleazebags. However, it does no good to call with opinions contrary to a right-wing-radio-whore. They generally only let those liberals on air who are bumbling fumbling idiots. The sort of people that DO NOT help our cause, and have a hard time putting a coherent sentence together using good argumentative mechanics. A well spoken liberal backed by facts and reason has very little chance of making it on air.

The best thing to do is to STOP listening to the dolts. In some markets, conservative radio listenership is almost %50 nonconservative. Kill a show's ratings, and they're forced to either change their style or go out of business.

... send product back to manufacturer that you already purchased.. even if you've used a portion of it. A lot of times they don't believe you if you say your going to do something. More important: show them!

22. you shouldn't call in with just opinions
call in with FACTS and be cheerful =)

the more we FLOOD their airways with FACTS the less useful they are at trying to HIDE them.

burying your head in the sand isn't going to make them go away... remember how we got here!

peace

24. No facts don't work...
RW talk show hosts discredit the sources. Unless you get it from the Drudge report, they'll claim it is bogus.

27. Problem is, the host runs the show.
Let's say your fact is from "The New York times" -- a liberal, hate America paper pushing its own pro-terrorist agenda.

How about a liberal blog? -- Oh, please... it's just part of a the Michael Moore Barabra Streisand Hollywood loving Bush bashing, hate-America crowd.

If the listeners were even tempted to "believe" your fact.. the last thing they hear before you are cut off, is how big of a lie your fact was. They win, we lose.

30. ...Unless.
You are really good enough to sneak a thought bomb by the 8 second drop button.

It has happened. But not often.

In most cases it's not worth the effort or grief.

But IF you make the attempt, sound like somewhat of an idiot to the screener.
Otherwise you'll never even get a chance.

You think they'll knowingly let an articulate Liberal on the air? HA!

36. I don't listen. I don't call.
I write down a list of sponsors that each show has. I write a letter to those advertisers that they are trying to sell their product/services on a program that also sells hate and intolerance. I then tell them that I will not use their products as long as they support right-wing hate.

I send copies to the Limpballs, O'Liellys, Faux, Beck, whoever.

Even an axe made out of paper will cut down the mightiest tree, if used long enough.
