1. Kerry is a dissappointment and I doubt he'll do anything with this.
As soon as the republicans call him on it, he'll back away from this too.

Sorry but he's a hack.

14. Considering his prior statement re fillibustering, that doesn't make sense
John Kerry Prepared to Filibuster

From 2003:

In a letter to MoveOn.org, Senator and Presidential hopeful John Kerry says that the Supreme Court is a major reason the Democrats need to take the White House away from Bush.

I am prepared to filibuster, if necessary, any Supreme Court nominee who would turn back the clock on a woman's right to choose, on civil rights and individual liberties, and on the laws protecting workers and the environment.

Kerry has prepared a petition which he promises to deliver to Tom Daschle, Senate Democratic Leader and Patrick Leahy, ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, as well as their Republican counterparts

The criteria are basic: Any person who thinks it's his or her job to push an extreme political agenda, rather than to interpret the law, should not be a Supreme Court Justice. Any person who thinks it's his or her job to carry out the President's political agenda, rather than to provide justice to ordinary Americans, should not be a Supreme Court Justice.

I am curious. How has he been a disappointment exactly? You sound as if you think he's backed away from everything he's done after 2004, and that's simply not true. He's been the first, among the first, or sometimes the only Senator to act on some issues. Perhaps on your favorite issues he's not acted as you would like, but there's no reason to think that he won't take a stand here.

He's actually quite consistent on many issues.

16. Right, it was some OTHER lawmaker who uncovered IranContra and BCCI -
Funny thing how all of DC ostracized Kerry for years because of it. Surely you must know this since you're such an expert on who's a hack and who isn't.

10. Unconfirmed internet rumor, so far.
And a possible "misunderstanding" by a phone staffer.

11. I've written to my Senators Murray and Cantwell and begged
them to fillibuster and got replies back from both. I then wrote to them both again and asked them to walk out on the SOTU and also asked McDermott to do the same. I'm now going to call again and ask for a fillibuster. If the response from the public is enormous maybe they'll act.
