Should Bill Ford lose his job too?
He's the CEO and couldn't pull a profit.

Cutting worker jobs is all and well I suppose... but it's often said the CEO makes the biggest decisions and therefore has to be held responsible when they can't do their job. Their job being pulling in the profits, period.

Axe Bill and have it done.

No golden parachute that gives the rest of us golden showers in return either. You don't get rewarded for fuckin' up your company. Period. That's what they do to workers; who have their responsibilities too.

2. Loved his comment about "shared sacrifice"
If he really believed that, he'd take a HEFTY pay cut at the very least.

7. He gave up the stock options last year.
"In the future I will not only continue my practice of accepting no cash compensation, but I will also forego any compensation at all until the compensation committee and I are satisfied that the company has achieved and is sustaining profitability."

17. The Fords, like the Bushes, make eugenics look attractive.
That part of the gene pool is clearly polluted.

9. LOL!
 It's the Unions' fault and the workers who demand honest pay for an honest day's work and pensions and health care. :sarcasm: Auto Execs can't be held responsible for poor profits when they have to pay the workers such outrageous wages :sarcasm: and give them added perks on top of that, right? RIGHT? :eyes:

10. Ford executives did this to themselves. They made poor decisions.
They were very poorly positioned in the market when the gas crisis hit. They were big into trucks and gas-guzzling SUVs. They were the cash cows of the 1990s. Now they get hit with their pants down, and who is in position to exploit the vulnerability? Companies like Toyota and Honda.

This is a repeat of the 1970s. They have completely forgotten past lessons, and now everybody will have to pay for their stupidity.

15. If he were a Japanese CEO, he might cut his own belly open...
...but here in America, I'm sure he'll push for an increase in his bonus package, due to his 'cost saving' layoff measures.

16. If I'm not mistaken Ford is
profitable overall, but is operating at a loss on its North American operations. Still sucks.
