He understands why Alito's wife was driven to tears because of all the untrue things said about her husband.

I say those things better be true, or Alito will go the way of Harriet Miers. Those "untrue things" are the reason he gained nomination and support of the right.

Is Pickering that dumb, or does he assume we are?
