Why doesn't some reporter come right out and ask Bush if he ever PAID for
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 08:02 PM by blm
an abortion for a girlfriend or any member of his family? Or if he ever condoned the procedure for a member of his family?

Seems to me whatever he puts in place will effect whether anyone else is allowed the same choice that he and his family members had, so I don't think it's rude or untoward in any way to ask the question.

In fact, I'd say it's NECESSARY.

1. I'm with you ...
... and if he answered 'no', you know that EVERY tabloid in the country, if not the WORLD, would be working overtime to find the evidence that he LIED ABOUT IT!

2. You expect him to tell the truth? He probably would lie if
someone asked him what he had for breakfast.

4. That leaves him open to LEGITIMATE investigation on the issue then, right?

19. It's not like you'd find anything...
All hard, unflattering, evidence tied to a Bush family member just disappears or has huge gaping holes, or names have been blacked out - and no one ever questions why (i.e. Bush's service records, the 9/11 commission report, Jenna's but-dance video, etc.).

3. what does the word condoned mean?
That leaves a lot of wiggle room.

5. I suppose if I were a reporter I'd come up with a more narrow term.
But, basically, the drift is there.

7. I would stick to paying for and helping before the fact
forgiving after the fact seems irrelevant.

10. the condoned was for the act...for instance, if his daughter needed one
and he condoned it before she acted. Or when he condoned the abortion for his 15yo girlfriend when she got hers.

8. The story has been out a few times......
Abortion of Robin Lowman

he Democrats are very well aware of junior's girl friend and her abortion. In 1970 or 1971 junior
was dating a woman named Robin Lowman (now Robin Garner). Miss Lowman became
pregnant by junior and he arranged for her to have an abortion. Which was illegal in the great
state of Texas in 1971. Not to mention that junior ran as a pro-life candidate for the presidency.
Robert Carl Chandler is a good friend of junior and a supporter from way back. Mr. Chandler
made the arrangements for Miss Lowman's abortion at the Twelve Oaks Hospital in Houston,
Texas. It is now call the Bayou City Medical Center. The source was threatened by Chandler
and another junior crony named James R. Bath. You may have recalled on the threads you've
read the last few days, as being junior's AWOL buddy from the the guard and junior's business
partner in oil dealings in Midland, and the BBCI scam. If not let me know and I'll hook you up to
a thread in General Discussions on DU.

Here is a dialog between Larry Flint and Robert Novak that appeared on CNN some time ago.

"Flynt : Well, during the impeachment debacle, we did an investigation which resulted in the
resignation of Bob Livingston and others and we have continued this investigation and for eight
months we've been looking into George W. Bush's background. And we've found out in the early
1970s he was involved in an abortion in Texas, and I just think that it's sad that the mainstream
media, who's aware of this story, won't ask him that question when they were able to ask him the
drug question without any proof at all, and we've got all kinds of proof on this issue.

Novak : Well, you're ...

Flynt : You know, the guy admitted he was a drunk for 20 years, and if the abortion issue is true
then that puts him lower on the morality scale than Bill Clinton.

Novak : Mr. Flynt, you said if it's true and you have no proof of that. I gather you are a very
strong ...

Flynt : The hell we don't have proof.

Novak : Sir, I gather you're a very strong Gore supporter. Is that correct?

Flynt : I'll vote for the lesser of the two evils. I don't like either one of them.

Press : All Right, Larry Flynt, a man who speaks his word, but we remind you they are Larry
Flynt's words and not ours. Larry Flynt, thank you very, very much for joining us.

This was followed by an online chat, in which Flynt went into greater detail :

CNN : Mr. Flynt, I would like to know how you plan to protect yourself from a law suit by
claiming to have the goods on GWBush.

Flynt : Because we have them and the truth is an absolute defense.

CNN : When and where are you going to publish information about George W. Bush?

Flynt : When I said that we had the proof, I am referring to knowing who the girl was, knowing
who the doctor was that pereformed the abortion, evidence from girlfriends of hers at the time,
who knew about the romance and the subsequent abortion. The young lady does not want to go
public, and without her willingness, we don't feel that we're on solid enough legal ground to go
with the story, because should she say it never happened, then we've got a potential libel suit. But
we know we have enough evidence that we believe completely. One of the things that interested
us was that this abortion took place before Roe Vs. Wade in 1970, which made it a crime at the
time. I'd just like the national media to ask him if abortion is okay for him and his family, but not
for the rest of America. We're not looking at it as a big issue, we're looking at it as a situation of
people not being told the truth. I think the American people have a right to know everything there
is to know about someone running for President."

So, that's the story : an illegal back room abortion arranged by the Republican party Presidential
candidate who ran on a pro-life ticket.

9. Correct way to ask the question is not whether, but has he stopped
as in 'Sir, are you still beating your wife?'

Sir, are you still paying for abortions when you knock up lady friends?

methinks a number of us would be detained after they checked our hate-o-meters.

16. My personal hate-o-meter is unusually high today.
Not that anything super-special happened - it's just that the morning paper was full of Republican wrongdoing (as usual) and it just got to me more than usual today.

I. HATE. THIS. PRESIDENT.

For what he has done to my country, my world, and my planet. For his incompetence, corruption, and dishonesty. For his arrogance and his constant "screw you" attitude. For his breaking of every law, treaty, convention, and agreement that he doesn't personally like. For his damn smirk. For his defiance of Christ's teachings while pandering to the religious. For his constant support of the powerful over the powerless. For his explicitly un-American lust for unbridled power. For his use of the Constitution as toilet paper.

I. HATE. THIS. PRESIDENT.

Time for Stephanie Miller. Maybe that will help.

23. Kenny Boy paid for George's girls. More apt, he TRIED to get the Bushboy
laid. Most overheard feedback from the girls was that George had problems in the performance department. Alcohol and cocaine abuse tends to do that over the years.

24. Yep...but what about his daughters' actions? You think he didn't pay for
those? There have been way more than a few tales of reckless behavior and "passing out" episodes which almost always means some slob is gonna take advantage.
