What the FOX interview with Clinton shows me?
I read the ThinkProgress transcript. I have never seen President Clinton so angry. Was he justifiably angry? You bet your ass, he was!

He opened them up like a can opener opens up a can of sardines. You could smell them from here. FOX says they are going to show it full and unedited. But what they don't say is how they plan on giving their spin on it before and after it airs. God forbid they let the people decide for themselves.

But there was one basic truth that stood out in the interview for me. President Clinton had protected this country and President Bush did not. And President Clinton was rightfully angry about it. It seemed to me that this had been eating at him for some time and finally he let it loose. The truth in all its gory detail.

The one point that President Clinton made that indicates to me that this had nagged at him for a long time was when he made the point that Bush had been in office for nine months and done nothing. Bush had fell asleep on the job. Just as the bombing of the Cole happened just weeks before the November election and Clinton could not get the FBI or CIA to agree to go after bin Laden and how Clark had documented all the facts in his book, but when Bush came into office, he acted as if it was no concern of his because it happened on "Clinton's watch". What if there had been an earthquake the day before Bush became dictator, would that have been on "Clinton's watch" and all the dead people would have been no concern of Mr Bush? Mr Bush acted as if the Cole was of no concern to him. Just as al Qaeda and bin Laden were of no concern.

President Clinton, intentionally or not, has shown us the truth about this Administration. They fell down on the job. He bit his tongue for so long that it became unhealthy for him. When the WTC was attacked with a carbomb just weeks after he became President, he did not blame Poppy Bush. When Poppy left the "humanitarian" mission in Somalia to Clinton, he did not point fingers or blame. He simply did his job. It should be obvious to anyone that wishes to see that this present President did not. He was vacationing down at the "ranch".

Don't even give them a heads up which might help them decide how to lie more effectively.

Let FOX News get the information second hand.

What you wrote really is accurate and it should be read by more folks, imho.

5. kentuck great analyis...
I have to agree that he was for so long trying to be the former President who didn't criticize the current administration....but I agree it was bad for his health and I think had a bit to do with triggering his heart attack.

I hope that his anger lights a fire under the Dems....we need to see his anger and the Congress and Senate Dems need to see the anger.....

His getting ambushed on the news show may have been the best thing that could have happened....

12. We must understand: George Bush is ENTITLED to INHERIT only the good.
He's NEVER done a damned thing on his own except find substances to abuse. To him and his ilk, he's supposed to go through life and every job solely on what he's inherited ... and he's entitled to spend that "political capital" for his personal benefit and that of his cronies.

He's not expected to actually accomplish anything on his own ... just coast on what his predecessor left him! Where his predecessor rode a unicycle, little George gets to ride a tricycle with training wheels. Where his predecessor was impeached for a blow job, little George can commit war crimes and get a free pass. After all, he can't do any better ... because he's an heir-head!!

19. Man! I'd like to see our sides counterpart of Faux interview Bush
I'd like to see him get double teamed by Randi and Malloy, or either one for that matter.
Man! Wanna watch Chimpy blown so far over the edge, they'd just scrape him up and ship
him to Bellevue. Boy, I can see it now.

OH. Wait.

We DON"T HAVE a counterpart of Faux on the left.

Never mind.

21. Yeah, Fox, show that video, in its entirety. Please.
You can spin before and after, but let people see a real President who can speak and think and be aware of the world, and what happens in it, and all those undecideds across the country are going to have a visceral reaction, and wake up a little bit, and blink their eyes, and the fog of this bogus regime will lift from their eyes a little as they realize, "Hey, it used to be different. And I liked it."

Great post, especially your recognition of Clinton's statesman-like position on never blaming other presidents.

Edited on Sat Sep-23-06 09:56 PM by Warpy
by the vehemence of Clinton's reaction.

Let's see, he lied to the man's face and said he didn't do his job.

I think Wallace should consider himself lucky he's not picking those capped teeth out of his rectum.

23. One thing will clear this all up, even for the right-wingers.
Don't you all remember what Bush was doing in the first nine months? Delegating everything to Dick Cheney. EVERYTHING. So what was Cheney doing in those nine months? It's not just that they didn't attack bin Laden. The question should be, "WHAT DID BUSH DO IN THOSE NINE MONTHS THAT MIGHT HAVE BROUGHT 9/11 ON?"

It's time to get down to the truth about those Energy meetings. I think we should thank Chris Wallace, because it's ON, BITCH!

25. They Need To Ask What BUSH Did To Prevent 9/11
NOTHING!!! No accident they waited til his watch when nobody was paying attention. The first WTC bombing was one month after Clinton took office but they never blame Bush I for that or credit Clinton for finding the perps and preventing subsequent attacks in the US on his watch.

26. Bush is still asleep on the job. Remember Katrina
and the federal government's non response? People died waiting for help. Americans died waiting for drinking water, food and simply to be given a ride out of hell. What did the Bush administration do? They politicized it. They blamed Blanco. They stabbed her in the back lying that she had not declared an emergency when she had three days before the storm hit. They wanted martial law in a circumstance where they didn't need it.

27. Rewriting history.
Edited on Sat Sep-23-06 11:32 PM by Xap
The Fox crowd will likely continue to try to use their media influence to reconstruct history and save their own skin every chance they get. Despite their most desperate efforts, though, I think history will be very unkind to Bushco for failing to retaliate for the USS Cole bombing, ignoring the Clinton administration's dire warnings about terrorism, allowing 9/11 to happen, generally neglecting the country's needs to focus their attentions on cutting taxes for the wealthy, unprecedented deficits despite starting out with a healthy surplus, massive corruption, Katrina failures, and of course their grand diversion from global terrorism to provincial Iraq, to name a few. They may convince themselves and some of their lemmings in the short run, but the truth will prevail in the end.

29. About damn time Clinton got angry!
Clinton has played "nice guy" for far too long. He didn't get angry when he was accused of sexual impropriety or prosecuted for supposed lying. He didn't complain when the Democratic Party stabbed him in the back. All through that time he kept smiling.

But at last, something to make him mad. And unfortunately, it can easily be attributed to protecting his reputation and legacy, when it should be righteous anger at the Bushies for betraying the country.

30. Why shouldn't he want to protect his reputation and legacy?
What's wrong with that?? I'm sure he was still steaming from the ABC movie, The Path to 9/11, in which they made shit up. So he took it out on Little Chris Wallace. Deservedly so, in my opinion.

32. Because Republicans will attribute it to Clinton's egotism.
Of course, when Republicans want to do it...like using a giant laser to carve a portrait of Ronald Reagan on the moon...it's simple patriotism.

If Clinton had gotten mad earlier, for other politicians, it would have helped. But that wasn't his fault. Gore and Kerry specifically didn't want Clinton's help. And we all know the result of that.

start telling the truth, speaking out, and fighting for our country. I've been screaming for a couple of months now that we need to stop trying to conform our behavior to what we think will not make/let them attack us.

You think they sit arround saying: "we better not do that 'cause it will give the left ammunition"?

If only. . .
