Last night President Bartlett.. |
|
.. acted like Bush should have acted during Katrina.
The potential nuclear meltdown was a metaphor for Katrina, and Bartlett and his government handled it so well.
It made me cry... for what could have been if we had gotten the president we actually elected.

1. And now we won't even have our fantasy president and WH |

After John Spencer's passing, I almost couldn't imagine "The West Wing" without his character and now I guess I'm not going to have to try. Alas, neither Jimmy Smits nor Alan Alda could have filled Bartlett/Sheen's shoes anyway ...

Tuesday night I saw the Commander In Chief act like a real President in a crises situation and it made me well up with tears thinking how far it is from real life.
On Crossing Jordon last night they had a story about armour vests in Iraq and how the company who made them was fudging on the expiration of the quality of the vests. One of the guys said.."The war was suppose to be over by now"..an Jordan said.."Maybe you should have given george w a head's up on your schedule".
They were showing caskets, too, of the dead soldiers returning And they mentioned how many have been killed so far in Iraq.."over 2000".
I was very impressed by the truths they were telling on a fictional show.
A lot of the tv writers have more conscience than the so-called news people..certainly more than the today show corporate hags.
