how do you KNOW 2006 is a rigged election? |
|
the republicans decided to make LEGALIZING WAR CRIMES COMMITTED BY THEIR PRESIDENT a major issue for this election.
think about that.
even if we do win the house, and even the senate, i will STILL believe they rigged elections near and far. there may be too much exposure for them to keep the house, but they'll cheat to hold the senate and they'll cheat to keep as many legislatures as they can.

1. They're already skewing the poll numbers. |
|
This is a trend with the Repubs. The closer they get to the election date, the better they do in the polls. That makes stealing an election alot easier and the results more credible.

5. They have set the table, .. |
|
They are skewing the polls; they have set up electronic voting w/o verification of results through a hard copy; they have nothing to run on but fear.
All of the pieces are in place, they cannot win on any issues that affect the Middle/Lower Classes. If the GOP comes out ahead in this election, the fix was in from the beginning.

7. The margin of error in most races falls to the Republicans. |
|
None of this happened overnight. We learned of the importance of a state Secretary of State in the 2000 election with Harris in Florida and again in 2004 with Blackwell in Ohio. Did anybody ever before pay much attention to an office such as a state Secretary of State? The Republicans have worked at fixing elections using different methods and tactics from the local level on up. The trouble is that too many Americans look at fixing and rigging elections like they do at any other big conspiracy theory. They tend not to believe that a national election can be rigged, but national elections are not national, but individual elections in individual states and districts and that makes them much easier to fix.

8. Yes, I've been saying this for months |

I hate to see my fellow liberals get their hopes up and be crushed once again, but they have this election in the bag. That's why transparent, free elections should be our number one issue. Without them we have nothing.

9. my point was -- why is TORTURE a CAMPAIGN ISSUE? |
|
what the hell is going on with politics? during campaign season, you trot out the issues that you WANT to run on, that make you look good. you trot out gay marriage or tax cuts or whatever. but this time, they trot out "let's pardon shrub for any war crimes he might have committed"??? this is what they WANT to run on???
the ONLY reasonable conclusion is that they KNOW the election doesn't matter.

10. Or, they are worried about losing majority and want to "railroad" through |

some exonerating legislation before that can happen and they lose their opportunity to do so.

11. If people are really concerned that "they" might be skewing the polls |
|
why not organize an open-source polling group via the net? Make sure that the methodology is good and raise some cash for it so you can be sure that the results are accurate and that no shadowy 'they' are somehow manipulating things.
Then again, I suppose it's easier to sit around and moan about how boogie men are going to steal the election.
