TRANSCRIPT: Tweety giggles over the WONDERFUL Michael Savage
DON IMUS: Have you lost weight?

CHRIS MATTHEWS: I was at — I was at 240 and gaining a couple years ago, and I've been working down. I was checking, I said — I got down to 215 after I ran the other day. So I'm somewhere in the teens still.

IMUS: Look pretty good.

MATTHEWS: I'm trying to get down to 200.

IMUS: Look pretty good. I mean, I'm not working toward a "Brokeback Mountain" situation here.

MATTHEWS:

IMUS: I'm just saying that — I remarked to Charles, I said, "He looks pretty good to me."

MATTHEWS: Yeah, I've been reading your comments. I don't think you're working in that direction.

IMUS: Well, I'm trying, so... Al Gore...

MATTHEWS: Have you seen it yet? Have you gone to see it yet? I've seen everything else but that, I guess.

IMUS: No, I haven't seen it. Why would I want to see that?

MATTHEWS: I don't know. I've no opinion on that. I haven't seen it either, so...

IMUS: So, they, um...I don't know. It was out when I was in New Mexico, and, um it doesn't resonate with the cow — with the real cowboys who I know, so...

MATTHEWS: Yeah.

IMUS: But then, maybe there's stuff going on there on the ranch that I don't know about. Not on my ranch, but you know what I'm saying.

MATTHEWS: Well, the wonderful Michael Savage, who's on 570 in D.C., who shares a station with you at least, he said — he calls it — what's he call it? "Bareback Mounting." That's his name for the movie, so...

IMUS: Right. Of course, Bernard calls it "Fudge-pack Mountain," but that's ...

MATTHEWS: You know what? I'll bet it wins. It's either that or "Good Night, and Good Luck" who'll win for an Academy Award, I think, this year. I think it's the mood. I think everybody likes the movie who's seen it, so —

3. Serious Gay Bashing
going on here. The gay rodeo has been going on since the 70's. Chances are some of the "real" cowboy's "I'm An Ass In The Morning" says he knows are gay.

I didn't think it was possible to hate Matthews anymore than I already do - but it's happened.

7. Tweety is a physical coward
When ENRON broke, Tweety did not play a single ENRON story, preferring instead to claim (like Geraldo) that World War THREE was about to break out in the Middle East.

In March or so of that period, he even LEFT the studio and went to the ME, and did a total Geraldo thingy, being flown in a helicopter - otherwise known as a "chopper" - over ARAFAT's digs.

Tweety was wearing aviator sunglasses and looked SCARED SHITLESS.

So, besides his PHYSICAL cowardice, I say he is also a MORAL coward.

9. Hate to defend Tweety...
I can almost guarantee that was said in jest. Tweety is a corporate whore shill fool, but I am pretty sure he hates Savage. During the very short time before Savage got kicked off MSNBC, I remember Tweety was sort of forced to interview him on Hardball to promote Savage's show or whatever, and you could tell tweety hated it and didn't respect Savage as a legitimate media member. Given that Tweety and Imus were talking like high school sophomores, I'll bet that was the tone of it.

10. Even if said in jest it's not funny.
At least to my mind. A lot of people will insult minorities and later say "I was only kidding!" The GOP has used that tactic for a long time.

12. why are there so many tweety threads?
Why not just stop watching him? I have. I see as much of him as I do O'Reilly, which is only when I'm scrolling through the channels on my remote. I used to watch both shows, but just can't stomach either one anymore. The final straw with Matthews was seeing him repeatedly show clips from SNL when they would parody him and having to watch him practically squeal with delight. It just seemed so pathetic. Please just stop watching him.
