I agree with the first poster and I would add this.
What being a Democrat USED to mean was standing up to anyone who oppressed, misused or took advantage of the common man. We used to fight corporate greed and efforts by corporate intrests to create a corporatocracy. We used to fight on behalf of the working class. Oh, I know, there are still some that do. But for the most part, it has become about winning and maintaining power, no matter the cost. We're in danger of, if we haven't already, losing our soul. We have become the battered wife of politics and are complicit in the misdeeds of the abuser. We need a shake-up of monumental proportions and we need it soon.
