3. I have that entire movie soundtrack memorized.....not because I am
a Jesus freak, just because it is so good and Always relevant. And someone gave me the 8-track right when I was coming of age.

5. I used to believe in Jesus back before his name was changed into
a symbol for the "hate-based" community that is running the Repuke Party today, Scribes and Pharisees, all of them..

I love the music in this thing.

Also loved Godspell.

Yes, I am showing my age.

8. I had the 8-track as well. Played it so often, I broke the tape!
Now I have the VCR tape and a DVD of it. Wonderful film. Too bad the righties are afraid to watch it.

15. the fundies would rather watch "bloody Jesus" films by Mel Gibson
so they can distract themselves from the main message ...love ...forgiveness ...compassion ...

what a bunch of fools who preach for the enrichment of corporate coffers ...in Jesus name ...

9. Wow. I was just thinking of this movie earlier today.
Fabulous movie, and the way Jesus is portrayed in it is very much the way my Great Grandmother taught me about him.

18. Why should you want to know...
I'm listening to it now.
I could sing this soundtrack by the time I was 6. Great music!
This musical/soundtrack/movie was incredibly controversial in John Birch/Fundie circles. It was blashemy!

20. I think I remember something of the controversy being very fundie-based
and for good reason. It stuck to the truth of the message, not the perversion of it. Bring it on, Jerry Falwell! He is Judas today!

22. JCS was a grass roots Christ.
Where do fundie/hatemongers fall into that picture? They are only grassroots when they want your cash. Where are those vials of holy, blessed, miracle water from anyway? How much did Fallwell charge for that video accusing Clinton of murder?
Cue the song "The Temple".
I love JCS because I see the hypocrisy it portrays.

Why you let the things you do get so out of hand.
You'd have managed better if you'd had it planned.

Nope, no relevance at all.
