Folks, we gotta stop bashing whole states. There are good and not so good people everywhere. And bad mouthing whole geographic areas does not win us friends nor dispell the misconception liberals are elitists.

You don't know what hell it has been (even here on DU) since Franks' book came out. I even snapped at Bill Moyers when he asked me "what's the matter with Kansas?"

When people keep bashing us, it makes it harder to get people to come out and support the Democratic Party and our candidates. They hear the crap and don't think it's worth it. It reinforces the idea that they won't make a difference and results in them giving up in a lot of areas that we need help in. More importantly, when everyone keeps emphasizing we're a red state a lot of people give up and don't vote because they swallow the lie that their vote won't make a difference.

I'm proud of the inroads we are making throughout the state.

My freeper neighbor (one block over) has been scraping off all the GOP stickers on his vehicles over the past couple of months. Gone are the Phill (double "l") Kline stickers and the Bush/Cheney stickers! I saw the scraper thingie on his porch so I know he did himself (besides the fact that he did a half-assed job doing it). When a Phill Kline supporter turns you know we're getting to the base.

18. You are welcome but I wasn't there

and man I wanted to be there so bad. But I am taking off school next Tuesday to go protest the idiot Gov Blunt in MO. His policies have had a much worse effect on my kids and my work (believe it or not, he is a politician I hate worse than el pretzeldente!)

So regretfully, I had to pass on this protest today. But damn I am proud of the folks who were there.
