Bruce Willis: "I'm a Democrat"
http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/im%20a%20democrat%20insists%20willis_1008544

BRUCE WILLIS has dismissed his "Hollywood Republican" reputation, insisting his political beliefs go far deeper. Confusion over the movie hardman's politics was sparked when he reportedly backed the war in Iraq, and even made an appearance with US President GEORGE W BUSH at the White House. But now he's keen to be seen as a staunch Democrat, according to the New York Daily News.

He says, "I'm always being accused of being a Hollywood Republican - but I'm not! "I have just as many Democratic ideas as Republican ones. If they could build three fewer bombs every month and give the money to foster care, that would be great."

If you chase away those moving our way then you are a shill for the right wing. Nobody has to apologize rather they need to work and vote for the Democratic party.

41. Phony
He need to do a hell of more then that. Get your skinny ass out and work to put a real American back in the Governor's office.
I've always believed that you were too macho to be one of those ass holes but we still need to see something from you. How about a visit on late night TV and don't give us any of the middle of the road shit. Americans are dying to hear the fucking truth.

45. Real American?
Pul-leeze.

Perhaps you would like to channel a real American political hero like John Peter Altgeld. That wouldn't bother me in the least.

Altgeld was governor of Illinois from 1893 to 1897; he was regarded as progressive in his time probably would be so regarded in ours. Think of him as the Bernie Sanders of the Gilded Age.

In 1894, Altgeld requested President Cleveland not use federal troops to break up the Pullman porters' strike in Illinois.

He pushed for strong legislation regulating child labor.

He appointed women to public positions.

And he had the courage to pardon the Haymarket rioters, who were convicted after a less-than-fair trial.

Such a man might have made a good president, if he could get elected, but he could not even run. Altgeld was born in Prussia.

For what it's worth, I am voting for Phil Angelides. There are many good reasons to defeat Governor Schwarzenegger. The fact he was born in Austria isn't one of them.

Bruce Willis in Pro-Iraq War Film

Outraged by the anti-war bias of the U.S. media, Hollywood star Bruce Willis is planning to produce a new film that tells the story of the bravery of U.S. combat troops in Iraq and their success in liberating the Iraqi people.

"I was over there," Willis recently told MSNBC's Rita Cosby. "I am baffled to understand why the things that I saw happening in Iraq, really good things happening in Iraq, are not being reported on."

"This is the same fight the US fought 60 years ago,” he declared.

http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2005/11/11/bruce_willistalks_about_the_iraq_war_pos

COSBY: You know, Bruce, you know, let's face it. A lot of celebrities have not been over there. A lot of folks in Hollywood have been very critical of what's happening in the war. Do you think, if a lot of your colleagues in Hollywood went over there, saw it for themselves, they'd have a different opinion?

WILLIS: I absolutely think that. I think we live in a global world. And I think that -- I think America is just too isolationist. And a lot of big choices are being made. You know, to say this is not our fight, when this is the same fight that this country fought 60 years ago and the entire world fought 60 years ago, for the same kind of terrorism, the same kind of thing.

This is not a new war. This is not a new kind of fighting. This is the same fight. And it's back. And it's time for it to stop.

But then there's this:

http://www.infowars.com/articles/media/hit_movie_director_slams_bush_admin.htm
Linklater said he had handed out DVD's on set which carried claims that 9/11 was perpetrated by the US government to erect a police state to Bruce Willis, one of the stars of Linklater's upcoming Fast Food Nation.

"He said it put him in such a head space that he will be quiet on issues of national policy."

Linklater said Willis had told him in an e mail that the videos had changed his entire political paradigm.

So, maybe there's hope for some wrong-thinking folks out there.

Or, are these guys adding that.

Not that it matters what the flaming fuck Bruce Willis believes.

My 96 year old uncle is a Republican who doesn't like ChimpCo and I don't see that making news. Why is Bruce Willis' opinion news?

where he suggests that he agrees with alot of the traditionally Democratic positions on more social spending, less war spending. That hardly makes him a Democrat- especially in our current fascist climate. I'd say he sounds like more of a Goldwater conservative. Which is fine with me, to be honest with you- it's a rational point of view, at least.
