Ben Veniste said that Clinton threatened the Taliban with retaliation if the USA was hit again. Then the Cole was hit. Clinton did not want to commit to an attack that that bush would have to accomplish. This was part of the information in the transition documents. When asked why he did nothing, bush said nobody told him about Clinton’s threat. Ben said this was unthinkable. He also reminded us that the Bush/Cheney testimony and the Clinton testimony has never been released.

4. Veniste's comments made my jaw drop - literally. How can this |

not be a huge media story? This is one of the 9/11 board members stepping out on his own to provide the TRUTH behind GWB's lack of pre-9/11 response. The president's testimony was, "No one told me we could go after the Taliban." This is the strong, decisive leader the right is in love with? WTF???

Clinton’s testimony was never released. It was the same as his story to Wallace. And Clinton has documents. Of course, they can't be released.

five years. Maybe they'll change their minds now that Ben Vineste's cracked the door open. It totally refutes the image these bozos on the right have created for W. Hard to believe, but he was even more clueless that I had imagined. Or he lied to the commission. It proves they had the specific intel and a plan (from Clinton) for an offensive that clearly could have prevented 9/11. And they did nothing.

10. That's the one where Bush wouldn't appear unless Cheney was there |

so the commission could see their body language and how they work together.
