Do you think, in the years post shrubco (whether that's next year,
3 or 20 years from now), that we'll learn things like that major newspapers and famous print and TV and radio journalists (Matthews, Blitzer, etc.) were completely on the shrubco payroll, or being blackmailed?

3. God it's even worse than that
It's their own mental filters. They don't even GET that they are shilling for the government. It's the subtle ominpresent need to reflect what is around you. Conformity. The memo. The pay raise. Everyone else is doing it..it makes sense. Everyone says he president is wearing clothes. Yes, Jack the president IS wearing clothes. Did you hear this guy-who does he think he is-he sounds like a terrorist-Moore or something was his name-dares to say that the president isn't wearing clothes. That's funny isn't it, Jack. All the polls show the president is a well dressed man.

Yes, some of them-Russert are Republicans and think it's all a game.

Some, are deluded, picking up a paycheck-and maybe a little nuts-Matthews.

Blitzer is probably in the mental filter camp. Not that smart. Most people aren't that smart-and can be used like a cheap whore. Which is what they are-but they aren't cheap-they are paid handsomly to never even consider that their bias is tainting into the realm of subtle and often-outright propaganda.

Blackmailed? NO. You don't need to blackmail them to conform. We think better of them than they deserve. They are not innocent. Keeping an open mind and not conforming isn't easy. It's not rewarded. Compliance is always rewarded. And most people never risk a damn thing. If they did, the world be a much different place.
