On Schultz today, a Marine call-in says we RAN OUT OF BULLETS
Had to buy more from the Russians.

Female Marine, her son is in Ramadi.

Ed Schultz and caller agreed: The number of our troops in Iraq is LIMITED BY THE AMOUNT OF MUNITIONS & WAR MATERIEL we have to arm them with.

Also Schultz said, GET THIS:

"We invaded that country and it's just reality that some people are gonna be tempted to rise up against us, the way we rose up against George III. And then we arm these guys and say it's your responsibility, you've got to fight this war. The Iraqis didn't start this war!! And we find out they don't have an incentive to fight it, your son (soldier) says they're "lazy and stupid", well maybe it turns out they care more about religion than the particulars of how their government is run... if they have no love for democracy, who are we to tell them how to run themselves?"

5. That is apparently the proper nomenclature, yes.
"Once a marine, always a marine..." Capeche?

Her daughter is in the air force or navy or something. Son is on his way home from Ramadi.

3. Where did the Marine Run out of bullets
Edited on Mon Sep-25-06 04:38 PM by RamboLiberal
In war zone or U.S. - I know I've read and seen stories here on DU of severe ammo shortages in U.S. military - to the point where they couldn't train. BTW, as a gun owner who shoots at matches I know ammo prices are really going up dramatically. Don't know if related to war or transportation prices or both.

6. Schultz specifically said his sources tell him we're
Limited by lack of war materiel -- not men. The amount of men we can send over there, is limited by the amount of stuff we have to arm them with.

Remember, we privatized and outsourced all our industries.

7. Schultz actually brought up a new talking point
regarding Iraqi loyalty: are they loyal to theocracy, democracy, dictatorship or what? He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he hit on something very important today talking to that caller.
