My questions: who has the photos now? How long has the person had them? Where did they come from? It's all in the provenance.

According to this online article, "...TIME has seen five photographs of Abramoff and the President that suggest a level of contact between them that Bush's aides have downplayed. While TIME's source refused to provide the pictures for publication, they are likely to see the light of day eventually because celebrity tabloids are on the prowl for them."

I doubt the source would have shown Time the photos unless he thought they were going to make a deal. Maybe they couldn't settle on a price. Or maybe the Bush Empire has put out the word that the photos had better not appear anywhere in the "respectable" media! But the tabloids may be running scared, too: don't forget that the photo editor of the one that published those pics of the Bush twins got a fatal anthrax letter!
