More on Historic NSA Hearing

Today, the transcript from Friday's hearing was released,Bradblog has a full copy, which runs over 100 pages in length. There have been a number of good stories out concerning the hearing over the weekend and today, including today's pieces byJohn Nichols in the Nation and by Norman Solomon in the Huffington Post and elsewhere. Many, many folks saw it on C-SPAN and have told me how valuable they found it to be.

After hearing Bush's statement about the illegal wiretapping program constituting a "terrorist surveillance program," (via Kos) it is all the more important that we held the hearing the way we did and when we did. This is truly Orwellian doublespeak -- calling the clearly illegal program, which has ensnared thousands if not millions of innocent Americans, to be terrorist surveillance is beyond the pale. We simply cannot let Bush's disinformation and pr campaign to get any further.

Thanks for all of your posts and suggestions over the weekend. We will follow up and stay on the case of this presidential abuse.
