Any '24' fans here? No spoiler |
|
When the first hour started last Sunday, and the way the first lady was handled, and with a name like Martha, I could not help but be reminded of Martha Mitchell, of the Watergate era, who would hold night talks with Helen Thomas and then was handled by the Secret Service.

3. He does in appearance. But I don't think that Nixon was so dumb |
|
and pursued by his ego. As a matter of fact, during tonight episode I was thinking: how can the president be so dumb. And, of course, immediately replied to myself that we already have one now..

5. Interview last week on Charlie Rose |
|
Kiefer explained they killed off Keeler, but they weren't allowed to say that's what happened.

Air Force One was hit by a missile from a stolen stealth bomber. Keeler was the President and he was in critical condition and they made Logan the President. However, Logan was very Bush-like. Ignorant and stupid and bumbling so they basically brought in a shadow President to run things.

me too....
Too bad we won't likely see a repeat (late night talks with Helen) with Pickles... Maybe that's why they keep her so medicated....

7. I was a fan, but not so much anymore. Perversely, I'm still recording |
|
the episodes, (no, I couldn't tell you why precisely--habit?) but I don't know if I'll watch anymore. Maybe when Carlos Bernard is back with us. I do kinda want to see how they're going to wrap it all up. Kinda. Watching the premier made me feel dead inside.

Something creepy about the Martha Mitchell thing: My name is Mark Mitchell and my Father and Grandfather are both named John Mitchell...

9. I'm a viewer and yes, I agree |
|
Logan, I think, is drawn from Bush as well as Nixon. The more right-wingnuts on the 24 mailing list, however, are certain they see Clinton everywhere. :eyes: But then don't they always?
Personally, I watch the show for Chloe. lol

She's an amazing character.
We're not alone. She's Stephen King's all-time favorite TV character.

10. Logan is always second guessing himself |
|
He had to ask the Justice Department about using torture. Bush never every second guesses himself and I don't think there would be a thought in his head questioning if torture was the right thing to do.

Just a little reminder that even though we are not currently on Orange Alert doesn't mean that you should stop being afraid. Oh, and don't forget to vote Republican. Thanks for watching... http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/images/blbushgulfwars2.htm
