Does it not strike anyone here as perfect timing for this Foley info to come out? I mean c'mon, people. They've known about it for a year or more. You all are taking the bait. Being led by the nose away from the real issue of the day. THE DEATH OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS! How many threads are needed on the topic of Foley? So everyone can feel so superior about a Repug getting caught and being shown up. You all are being played. It's no wonder this country is dead.

In the meantime we can simply enjoy the fact that there will be one less Republican in Congress. That's not a bad thing, IMO.

I know you may not like hearing this and it's sad to say, but to the average American? THIS sorta stuff is way more important than the constitution.

on another forum. The passage of the War Crimes Protection Act yesterday is a much more critical issue, but nothing gets people's attention like SEX! I actually dislike sleaze and scandal, but I've been playing it up anyway because it's a lot more important to most people than the Bill of Rights. It's a hell of a sick country we live in!

Republicans may have thought that they were rebuilding momentum for the congressional races, but this story definitely stalls that momentum, or perhaps even reverses it.
We just basically clinched a new seat in the House and further exposed the other party as the party of hypocrisy. Let's try to enjoy a good thing. The torture story will still be there on Monday.

Maybe not necessarily someone on "our" side. Maybe someone we normally think of as being on "their" side, or the real string-pullers behind the curtain, has decided Bush and the congressional Repukes are a liability and has decided to take them down. The timing really is extremely odd, and extremely damaging to the Repukes.

but the information was leaked to The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). They waited for ABC to put up the story, then published everything they acquired.
Nope, they thought that they had buried this story.
The last thing they want is for a Republican Representative; part of the leadership within The House; deputy whip; Member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee; and Chairman of the Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus to EVER, I repeat EVER be discovered sending sexually explicit IMs to Current and Former Pages.
Nope, this blew up in their faces.
We need to drive home "The Cover Up" by Denny Hastert and a number of other House Leaders.
But Oh, they claim that they were only thinking of the situation of the boy and his parents. Sure. :thumbsdown:

Let me share with you a quote of his when he was "outraged" about a nude camp in Florida, with boys as young as the page.
"It's putting matches a little too close to gasoline," he said. No shit Mark, no shit.
He was running for Senate at the time, but rumors were circulating that forced him to abandon that race.

40. Following Foley Pedo chain back to House leadership is way to get it back |
|
Time to roast Hastert in a spit and feed him to a huge mound of red ants.
Include everyone in the chain. This could tunnel out a nice, bit chunk of the House leadership and maybe snag a Senator or two as the fence sitters turn away from Pukes in disgust.
Look, this ain't rights or freedom we are talking about here. It's SEX! Americans have been trained to react to sex with rapt attention, intense suggestibility and with money. Time to make that pay off for us.
If we want to win, we will play this thing until the whole map is blue.

In fact let's assume otherwise. That all is as it seems. This story about Foley just came out due to circumstances that involved no planning whatsoever.
- At the same time as this story The Writ has been assaulted if not eliminated;
- Baghdad is under lockdown due to possible coup;
- Oaxaca is under siege by Right Wing elements who wish to "restore order";
- US criminals have been retroactively absolved of their inhumane acts;
- The Earth is undergoing catastrophic climate change;
And so on.
So let's assume this to be the case. Foley's sordid and disgusting transgression as THE hot topic? Seems only a tremendous project of social engineering could pull this off.
Maybe Nero wasn't the only one fiddling.
