a message to all blue state residents. |

i do not care what political party you belong to, my question is why do you vote for red senators and congressmen who vote against your states interests.
vote blue if you live in a blue state. if you do we can take back the house without the radical red states.
in new york we have some congressmen like Sweeney who voted 100% for the bush rove agenda, guys like him need to go.
blue states can win this election if we vote smart.

reddest red states have blue congressional districts.
But why, oh why, does blue Maine continue to put Olympia Snowe back in office, when she is so quick to hop in bed with The Bush Crime Family?

We have vote-by-mail so there's actually a pretty good chance our votes will count.
The electronic voting machines present problems that we're all aware of and I don't know how that will work when it comes to turning red states blue, since the machines/votes are so easily manipulated. Or so it would appear from what I know about it.
The "why do people keep voting against their own and their states' best interests?" question is one I can't even begin to answer. Could have something to do with voters being confused and fooled so often, could have something to do with those machines. It's an issue worth pursuing and a fight worth fighting, given the bleak future we face if things don't turn around.
BTW, welcome to DU. Keep the faith!

That's the most important issue right now. We'll worry about DINOs later, when we have the power. I have a D-Congressman (Howard Berman - CA 28CD) that I'm not crazy about, but the alternative is anathema. As the old saying goes, just hold your nose and vote.

to provide the red voters for Sweeney. It used to be blue and we are working our tails off to get Gillibrand in, it's a tough battle. If anyone has a few bucks please consider contributing to her campaign.
