"Any leader who had been aware of Mr. Foley's behavior should step down"
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/9/30/21525/0383

"Anyone who was involved in the chain of information should come forward and tell when they were told, what they were told and what they did with the information when they got it," said Representative Peter T. King, Republican of New York. Mr. King called it a "dark day" for Congress and said, "We need a full investigation."

Representative Christopher Shays, Republican of Connecticut, said any leader who had been aware of Mr. Foley's behavior and failed to take action should step down. "If they knew or should have known the extent of this problem, they should not serve in leadership," Mr. Shays said.

4. Sorry, Mr. King, but the much darker day was...
when torture and the stripping away of habeas corpus had a voice in the halls of congress.

5. Ok, maybe all is not evil...
I understand that these Republicans are doing damage control.

However, I am a little less sickened--because AT LEAST they are speaking out
against this. I am glad that some Republicans are saying that those who covered
this up should step down as well.

Usually, they all cover for each other and stonewall.

Again, I know the primary motivation may be for damage control--but I am glad
to see that Republicans are acknowledging that the cover up is just as bad
as the original sin.

6. Thank you for the first sentence of my LTTE
I live in the 19th Congressional District in Illinois - represented by John Shimkus (the incumbent who will still probably win) - but I thought a published letter in my local rag would hopefully enlighten a few voters as to his involvement and cover up in this mess. Who would have thought I could quote pukes to further my agenda?!

8. He's a little North of me. There is definitely a law that if someone
discovers child abuse, they must notify the proper authorities.

12. You go Saged! Get the word out.
That's how it's done. Can't rely on the MSM for anything. Multi-level, and all of that crap. It works!
