Maybe Foley is the "distraction" Dem's need. |

This will not sit well with "values" voters. Beyond the impact we have yet to see with regard to resignations, I think this scandal may cause some republicans to stay home. I don't expect many to vote Dem, but I do think many will become disgusted with the republican leadership and I think it will have an impact on the electorate.
While I do think this takes away from the Iraq planning (Woodward), these kind of values issues resonate deeply with the right, more than the war on terror and our constitutional rights. This hits them in the gut.

1. This is the "distraction" Bush did not want.... |
|
He's on the warpath, preaching fear and war on terror and cut-and-run....Then Foley went and done this shit and everybody's focused on the Republican Congress, rather than on Mr Bush, the Divider. He hates it! This may permit the Democrats to win the House and that means his ass is grass and John Conyers is the lawnmower. He hates it! Now the Republicans are running like rats from a sinking ship. This is not good for Mr Bush. They need to change the subject immediately and get back on the offensive.

2. thank you. Just ask, What would Karl do? |

Habeas corpus, wiretapping and the constitution are more of a concern to me and many here I suspect. But for many in this country, I think the Foley scandal hits home, and the dems are right to attack them on this. Rove has been big on attacking democrats as being weak on these issues and we need to attack them for their hypocrisy.
