3. I wish I could take some credit for laying the groundwork

for all this in the 60s, but I'm lucky I got out alive.

Charlotte is a weird city. They had the first topless joint east of Las Vegas back in the mid 60s and some of the first public (not private) gay dancing bars outside San Francisco. One of the network stations ran soft porn late at night on the weekends.

Nice to see the politics have caught up with the libertines.
