story that seems to get locked on du..so i didn't want to go into alot of detail..the best way to learn about nebraska politics is to start with Franklin cover-up..there isn;t a one of them from Nebraska that i would trust with my dog!! or the barn door open!

now i do not mean that aobut Nebraska people..its the politiicians...i don't trust one bit that come out of that state...

i sure don't think kids are safe there!! the most vunerable of our society...

As upset as we might be with turncoats like Nelson and Lieberman, if we don't live in their states, I'm not really too sure if they give two damns about what we think. If I were his receptionist, that's probably the first thing I would ask - are you one of his constituents?

That being said, I hope the good folks in Nebraska and Connecticut start raising holy hell.

13. It's not worth it

90% of the calls he's received have been people urging him to vote for Alito. They (NE repukes) have a whole phone/letter writing campaign going and it's working. In some ways that is what Congress should be about - listening to your constituents(even though I think they are wrong) So at election time, either we get Ben Nelson as bad as he is or some fundie-corporate stooge. It's that simple. I'm not excited about Nelson, but I will probably vote for him. I wish it was different, but it isn't.

IMHO, I think Sen. Nelson of NE is a lost cause. He's up for re-election in Nov. in the 5th or 6th reddest state in the Union. Dems in NE are a strange hybrid. In order to get elected they have to be violet-hued and play to their "BUY-BULL BELT BASE"--which means being anti-choice, pro-prayer, anti-gay & pro-war. Strange creatures. (I speak as a former Nebraskan). SG
