5. Gotta be honest...it wasn't funny

Allen is a parody of himself anyway at this point....no guy doing a bad Foghorn Leghorn impression is going to top old George's stupidity himself.

8. I agree... I thought the entire "newscast" was a bust. Did it used to be

funnier, or is it just me? The actor who portrayed Allen didn't look or sound like Sen. Macaca. It was pretty sophomoric, IMO.

....and far better when Norm McDonald or Dennis Miller was doing it.

I don't know if you watch "The Daily Show" or "Colbert Report", but that could have an effect on what makes you laugh. SNL is no longer the only place to go for political satire.

11. I haven't enjoyed SNL in years. Problem: it's not funny.

Every now and then I'm up late on a Saturday night and tune in the show I used to love so much. Every time, I am disappointed that it is so lame and unfunny. Yet they seem to have dozens of cast members! As I recall, the original show had seven. Maybe quantity does not automatically bring quality.
