My worst nightmare

Nov. 8 - The talking heads are on every channel, each wearing a red tie and a toothy grin. The talk is quite animated, but the central topic never varies:

"Despite liberal Democratic claims that George Bush invaded Iraq under false pretenses and has no clue how to conduct a war or end it, despite the Downing Street memos verifying that war was the only acceptable plan for the administration, despite the overwhelming evidence that this administration dropped the ball on 9/11, despite their utterly appalling non-response to Katrina, despite the Abramoff scandal, despite their Flat Earth view on global warming, despite being in bed with Diebold, despite Republican party leaders being aware of Tom Foley's shenanigans for a year and doing nothing about it, despite writing torture into US law, and despite the systematic shredding of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution in general,"

(chuckle) "Bill, you're on a roll here!"

(smirk) "it appears that American voters have decided that changing horses in midstream wouldn't be worth the risk to our nation's safety, and have retained both the House and Senate for Republicans! Ha ha!"

"When will those liberals ever learn, eh Bill? Ha!"
