OK, like most words, 'pedophile' has a family of usages.

In medicine, it means being sexually attracted primarily or exclusively to prepubescent or peripubescent children.

In everyday speech, it mean significantly older adults who are sexually attracted to adolescents below the local age of consent, as well as those who have sexually abused a child.

But, boy howdy, do we have a massive influx of those who are brow beating anyone who uses pedophile and Foley in the same sentence. "We show our ignorance." "It's retarded."

Well, first, more about Foley is sure to come out and, so far, it's just the pages and pages have an age limit of 16, so we know Foley was attracted to at least as young as 16 yr olds. And I've read the IMs. It seems that Foley was trying to help the boys, ahem, discover their sexuality - he wasn't trying to hit on "young men" who were already sexually active.

Myself, I'd say the term "Pedophile" fits.

6. yesterday i was handing out fliers with a congressional candidate

in our very repub county... i was being snubbed when i was trying to hand people the cong candidate dem's fliers and flyer's for governor of Menendez...

so when people snubbed me ..and snidely said ..i am republican..i would then say........."oh then you must support Pedopheila!!"..from all the republican pedopheliacs..and those in congress that cover up for them..."

i would continue saying.."you better watch your children around the pedophiles in your party then!"

and i would get weird looks..or some people said ..what are you talking about..one guy got in my face..and i said back off...and you better educate yourself to what your party is doing to children!! and has been for many many years!

and i told him about foley and the cover-up...and said he better demand an independent prosecutor..since he forced one on us over clinton having consensual sex with an adult..what is he going to do about pedophilia in his own party...
