2. Well, they sure waited long enough.
I'm sure the other repuke congressmen involved in this pedophile ring have taken care of the evidence before the police ever got there.

35. You'd have to attach a person's name to the act of
destruction. GOOD LUCK.

It's not easy to pin these sorts of crimes on people. Pity.

4. Neeeeiiiiighhhhhh, neeeiiiiiigggggh, whinnnny, whiiiiinnnnneeeeeey!!!
Those hoofbeats you heard yesterday were the fucking horse clip clopping out of the barn.

So quick--LOCK the barn door!!!

The only hope is that the guy didn't have a clue how to wipe and overwrite his hard drive. Any idiot who thinks that AOL IM isn't retrievable probably thinks that "delete" means "delete."

Pity he couldn't understand that no means no, and underaged means ILLEGAL!

8. He probably hired a 16-yr-old to wipe it for him. In which case,
I'm sure the kid was "interrupted" before he could finish.

11. Surely somebody on his staff does
The question is whether they cared enough to do it and save his ass when the perv had put them on the unemployment line through his own stupidity and lack of self control. I'm guessing anything that was there to find Thursday is still there to find unless higher-ups were willing to risk taking care of it, which I doubt.

They may be looking for physical evidence too, blacklighting his office chair or checking out any locations they've been tipped off about for potential liasons.

28. Blacklighting the chair!!!! Swabbing for DNA other than his, eh???
Check for the stray hair caught beneath the center desk drawer, perhaps?

If I were a staffer for him, I would NOT help. WHY? They get to KEEP THEIR JOBS--for now, anyway. They are manning an EMPTY office, answering phones, filing mail, and finishing up issues on the action tickler (tickler--hee hee) that have already been assigned to them that the chief of staff will either sign out when the action is done, or ask Mel Martinez, the FL GOP Senator to sign out for him. There's NO turnover until the new guy takes over, and then he will fire EVERYONE and bring his own crew. Those people are EMPLOYED until next year when the new House is seated.

The consequences of helping him are simple: ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT. FEDERAL CRIME. JAIL TIME.

I'd say "Fuck him!" if I were a staffer, put my resume up on MONSTER, and start trolling the halls on both the House and Senate side, trying to find out which staffers in other offices are leaving, or getting ready to do the maternity leave thing, or what have you. I'd be interviewing like mad, and PRAYING LIKE HELL that I was NEVER, EVER rude to some one in another office--if this guy had a high-handed attitude that percolated down to his staff, well, those employees are FUCKED in a few months.

22. The Vonage Theme was pulled from Kill Bill Vol. I - The 5, 6, 7, 8s
The band, "5, 6, 7, 8s," plays this song right before the big fight scene between Uma and the Crazy 88s.

The song is much better in the movie than on T.V. Context is everything.

10. How much evidence can be destroyed in two days?
Probably most of it.

The seemingly 'chaotic' GOP response was probably to buy time until everybody could get their hard drives cleaned up.

They covered this up for over a year and now claim ignorance of Foley's activities. The Cover Up must be revealed.

These GOP bastards have the concept of fucking with electronic records, be they access, hard drives, email or voting records, down to a science. Nobody does it better, it would seem. The BAAAAAASTIDs!

Also, why isn't the Justice Department or FBI breaking down Foley's office door like strong arm tactics they tried with William Jefferson?

36. A strong homemade electromagnet will destroy evidence.
No need to remove the computers, just a wave over the hard drive with a strong electromagnet will toast the data. Deleting files then zeroing out the open sectors will also kill data without need to remove the computer.
