What a joke. Reid asks Gonzales to investigate Foley?? |
|
God help us.
We have cowering sheep at the helm.
Are there any real leaders left in America?

Rather than just bitching, let us know what you think is the right course of action.

Is that such a novel idea?

2. How can this be a bad thing? |

If Gonzales refuses (which he will), then it'll be made pretty clear that he's just trying to help his buddies cover this up.

8. Well now, that's a good point. , |
|
However, what they have done so often before is come to us, throw their hands up and say, well golly gee, they won't have an investigation so there's just nothing we can do. Our hands are just all tied up!

That would be....??? I think that this is designed to tie them up in an even more untenable situation than they are in presently.

Noladem posted in another thread:
"Why not just draft a resolution demanding the House expel anyone with knowledge who did not report it (Hastert, Reynolds, et al) and have the resolution call for the evidence to be turned over to the proper authorities for a criminal investigation, since the party in power has shown an inability to investigate itself."

Let's say on the off chance the Republicans voted for it, do you realize the Justice Department is the proper authorities?

.... why not just ask Hastert to investigate.
For those who can't figure it out, Republican lackeys are not going to so ANY real investigating, period.

... would be asking for what they really don't want - an independent counsel investigation of the coverup. Pelosi is occasionally capable of a big-ass deal, Reid almost never.
Gonzolez isn't going to do SHIT, you know that, I know that and Reid knows that.

19. It's an appropriate call. That's the AG's job...Reid's right to remind him |
|
regardless of Gonzales' response. Oversight is a day to day calling to account.

You need to get realistic here. Gonzalez is the AG of the USA and he sucks, but it is (supposedly) his job to investigate stuff like this. Reid has to go somewhere and this way, if Gonzalez turns Reid down it will appear that he may have something to hide.
