12. It's hard, I know
I live in a supposedly "Democratic" area, yet the most signs I see are for Grandma (Thanks, Tony :eyes:).

I've ended up doing stuff on my own, like bumper stickers on my car & signs in my yard. I've gotten a positive response so far.

You might want to try putting up a sign or sticker on your car just to gauge the response. Chances are, there are other Dems in your area who are afraid to speak out. :)

:hi:

11. He's the best shot we've got for governor
& turning the state around, putting it back in the hands of the people of this state & not the corporations or foreign governments (ie, the Trans-Texas Corridor, a major land-grab & giveaway to a Spanish corporation).

As Chris says, he's running against 3 Republicans & a Libertarian. Don't forget to watch the gubernatorial debate this Friday & watch it with your dad!

14. Polls I've been reading
Edited on Sun Oct-01-06 05:59 PM by blogslut
place Bell at over 25% of the vote. He's relatively tied with Dick Friedman. Now, considering that Perry hasn't seen over 40% of the vote in polls since last February and considering Goodhair's numbers have been on a decline in recent weeks, I think Bell has more than no chance.

15. Well, anyone is better than Gov. Goodhair, even Kinky, but that's not
saying much. Honestly, I haven't paid that much attention to Kinky, as I do not take his bid for Gov. that seriously.

10. Tell your father
Edited on Sun Oct-01-06 05:43 PM by blogslut
that Chris Bell was born in Abiline. Tell him Bell was a radio journalist turned lawyer, turned public servant. He started out on the Houston City council, ran unsuccessfully for mayor and then won as a United States Congressman in 2002. He founded the Port Security Caucus and was considered a star freshman. Then Tom Delay decided Bell had to go and he was a main victim of the great Texas gerrymandering of 2003.

Tell him that in 2004, Chris Bell filed an ethics complaint against Tom Delay. Of the three counts on which Delay was accused of, one was left to be persued as a criminal charge in Texas. In 2005, Tom Delay was indicted and charged with violating campaign finance law. Delay waits trial as we speak.

The end. :)

16. Tell your dad
This liberal grandma from awaaay out here in Oregon says...

she doesn't like kinky, thinks the woman is awful and isn't impressed with the direction Republicans like Perry have taken Texas, so...

as long as Chris Bell isn't drooling on stage, he'd have my vote. :)
