Prediction: Bush sends 20000to40000 more troops to Iraq after the election
Edited on Sun Oct-01-06 09:59 PM by bluestateguy
They'll do it with more stop losses, extensions of existing deployments and new deployments.

There is precedent for doing this, by the way. The day after the 1990 midterm elections, which did not go well for Republicans, the real President Bush ordered a doubling of US forces in Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Shield.

1. I don't think the 20- 40, 000 troops will be gathered that quickly
When they are calling 52 year old people out of retirement they are in real trouble...the only way they can do this is to have a draft and they are not going to do it....besides it's too late....the insurgency has engulfed the whole country...there was a point where it could of been controlled and eliminated but the moment has passed....
