Total Media Blackout on Abramoff Memo
Which stated that Abramoff knew that there would be a war on Iraq a year before it happened.

Memo here:

Thanks, ck4829.

2. There is so much being released on Abramoff this past week
all of it pretty damning. But no one is aware.

Just like no one is aware that the USA is now a country which can torture its prisoners, both domestic and foreign.

story.

7. the worse things get, the more apparent becomes the degree to . . .
which the corporate media is no more than a BushCo house organ . . .

it's downright scary how the media neglects so many of the most important real news stories -- because they are, first and foremost, the propaganda arm of the military-industrial complex that Eisenhower and others warned us about . . .

was around. How many scandals got missed? Amazing.

12. Kicking with a suggestion that in the morning, we start sending
this out to every media source we can get our hands on. How about it DU'ers? Whatever happened to the Activist Corps? I'm a member and it's been almost a year since the powers that be have used it to ignite us into action. Oh Skinner? :)

15. Yes, but w/o his name, you won't get anything 'specific'.

So your whole premise is false.

There's not a media blackout by any stretch.

18. You are completely missing the point
When you search for his name you get all the news about the memos. Those stories do mention that he had over 400 contacts with Bush, what they don't mention is something very important, the email where Abramoff actually mentions the "upcoming war in Iraq" 6 months before the invastion.

16. *EVERYBODY* knew there'd be war in Iraq the minute Bush was selected.
*EVERYBODY* knew there'd be war in Iraq the minute Bush
was selected. It was a personal vendetta because "they
tried to kill my daddy!"

Bush was exactly that sort of petty pissant.

Only Democrats in Congress were too stupid to know
that Bush would have his war given even a quarter
of a chance.

17. I know
But we have something on paper, that is important too, and the guy who said it was a criminal. That makes it important IMHO.

Everyone with half a brain cell knew.

There\'s no smoking gun here.

At least not around DU. Where it was clear at that time what was going to go down.

24. Media silent on evidence Abramoff knew
Some of the major media are like the Rush Limbaugh Show; they won't comment until the White House has a good, "We can't talk about that because we're looking into it." And, gives them the go-ahead sign.

26. not surprising-- the media is totally complicit...
...in selling the war against Iraq. I would not be at all surprised if some cable news or network execs also knew in advance-- knew in the sense of having been told by Rove so they could "position" themselves properly to cash in on viewer interest, and coincidentally grease the skids for the WH, not in the sense that many of use knew without a doubt that Bush's protestations were BS.
