The Center for Missing and Exploited Children Board of Directors
list has been posted here in several threads. Upon cursory inspection there were several members listed as belonging to JARI Research of Naples, Florida.

Well, gee-here's another "coincidence theory", Mr. Hank Asher of JARI Research Naples, Florida is the former drug smuggling pilot that got a pass on those activities and went on to become a wunderkind of data-mining.

In fact, Mr. Hank Asher is linked to a sucession of data-mining companies that include Database Technologies/DBT which was absorbed by ChoicePoint, Seisint and MATRIX. These programs disenfranchised a lot of voters. Mr. Asher went to a meeting in 2003, arranged by Jeb Bush, to make a proposal to Dick Cheney, and people associated with the Total Information Awareness program of John Poindexter as well as Pentagon and Homeland Security data-mining "experts".

Here is a link to a Vanity Fair article on Hank Asher.
http://www.vanityfair.com/commentary/content/printables/050131roco01?print=true

The ACLU has been involved in a campaign against the MATRIX program-and several States and law enforcement agencies have opted out of it (there is some information about Hank Asher included in this link)
http://www.aclu.org/safefree/resources/16906res20040116.html

And DUers are were certainly aware of some of Mr. Hank Asher's achievements back when the NSA domestic spying operations were discussed.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x521016

Other National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Board of Directors members from JARI Research of Naples, Florida are Mr. Robbie Callaway and Mr. Kenneth Hunter. JARI Research is a privatized team chosen by Mr. Asher to help his sister Sari who is suffering from malignant melonoma, there are some of that team also on the NCMEC Board as doctors.

Mr. Asher has given some support to Democratic political candidates, true. But the more I research this guy, the darker it gets. I wonder if he knows the folks that owned that infamous Naples, Florida flight school Huffman Aviation where Mr. Atta and others trained? Another "coincidence", the DEA busted a private jet belonging to Wallace J. Hilliard Huffman Aviation's real owner with 43 pounds of heroin-yet, just like the situation with Hank Asher there wasn't much in the way of prosecution.

In any event, there is certainly some linkage to Republican criminal corruption, privacy concerns, and a lot of other things with Mr. Hank Asher a Board of Director member of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Everyone who’s supposedly anyone in the blogsphere is reporting that there’s a second case of a Department of Homeland Security Sex Scandal today — this is the case of Frank Figueroa senior law enforcement official who used to run DHS’s Operation Predator and who was busted last October after exposing himself to a girl in a food court.

Obviously no one was paying attention to me when I reported earlier that there was a DHS federal agent arrested through Dateline’s child predator special program.

So there’s three.

Kind of lends itself to my theory that Homeland Security has a special club for them, doesn’t it?

More From the Department Of Child Predators

Well, in case you thought that sexual perversion in government officials was isolated to Homeland Security…

A high-ranking Defense Department IT official has been arrested and indicted on child pornography charges.

Charles Lynch, director of the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Internet Protocol version 6 transition program, was arrested March 8 and indicted in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia the next day on one count of possessing child pornography.

According to a statement by the DOD Inspector General’s Office, court documents allege that Lynch had been operating a peer-to-peer file-sharing program on a computer in his office at DISA. Agents confiscated several computers and more than 1,000 CDs from Lynch’s office. Agents found child pornography in computer file folders, the IG’s statement said.

Lynch, 44, is on leave without pay from DISA. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

The investigation is being conducted by the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the DISA OIG. Officials with those agencies, as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Office, declined to comment on the ongoing investigation.

In apparently unrelated cases, a Homeland Security Department official was arrested earlier this week for soliciting sex over the Internet with a minor. And last week, federal agents seized computer equipment from the desk of a NASA official March 29, based on information developed during a U.S. Postal Inspection Service undercover investigation of Internet trafficking in child pornography. <“DOD IPv6 director arrested for possession of child porn” (GNC)>

Remember when the Rebublicans thought a President having a blowjob in the White House was the most immoral thing a man could do? Why aren’t we hearing as much of a fuss from the same right that launched a witch hunt for that same President about all of these government officials who are preying on innocent children on government time and government equipment and taxpayer money?

Hat Tip to Suburban Guerrilla.

Federal agents seized computer equipment from the desk of a NASA official March 29, based on information developed during a U.S. Postal Inspection Service undercover investigation of Internet trafficking in child pornography.

TheSmokingGun.com Web site has posted significant excerpts from an affidavit written to request a search warrant outlining much of the case against James R. Robinson, a GS-15 in NASA's In-Space Propulsion, Mission and Systems Management Division, based at NASA headquarters in Washington. The affidavit was written by a special agent in the NASA inspector general’s office.

According to the affidavit, Robinson used both his home and office computers to store and trade numerous images of underage children engaged in a variety of sexual acts.

NASA HQ Raided In Kiddie Porn Probe
Feds: "Skin tone filtering system" helped nab space agency executive
MARCH 31--The Washington headquarters of NASA was raided this week as part of a kiddie porn probe targeting an executive with the space agency, The Smoking Gun has learned. On Wednesday morning, federal investigators seized a laptop computer, a hard drive, CDs, and other material from the office of James R. Robinson, who was present when agents with NASA's inspector general executed a search warrant at his E Street office. According to an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court, Robinson, 42, used his office computer (and another in his Virginia home) to trade and examine illegal images and videos. An excerpt from the affidavit, sworn by agent Paul Danley, can be found below. Robinson, a program executive with NASA's In-Space Propulsion, Mission and Systems Management Division, was snared last year in an online operation run by postal inspectors. In correspondence with a series of undercover agents, he described his preferences as, "probably priority right now would be boy-on-boy or boy-with-Man, and girl-on-girl. But really, anything is of interest." Robinson, who has not been arrested, wrote that he was "Not a cop," and explained that he amassed his child porn collection via downloads "via Kazaa and usegroups."

now check this out..charges were dropped!! but it is an ongoing investigation????????

Child porn charge against DOD IPv6 director dropped
Investigation continues
By Patience Wait, GCN Staff

snip:

(Updated) Two weeks after a Defense Information Systems Agency official was arrested on a charge of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s office handling the case dropped the charge. But a spokeswoman in the U.S. Attorney’s Office said the investigation is continuing.

“This is an ongoing investigation, so we don’t have any comments,” the spokeswoman said.

Charles Lynch, director of DISA’s IP version 6 transition program, was arrested March 8 and indicted in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia the next day on one count of possessing child pornography.

According to a statement by the DOD Inspector General’s Office, court documents alleged that Lynch had been operating a peer-to-peer file-sharing program on a computer in his office at DISA. Agents confiscated several computers and more than 1,000 CDs from Lynch’s office.

Lynch, 44, is on leave without pay from DISA.

The investigation is being conducted by the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, the FBI and the DISA OIG. Joseph McMillan, special agent in charge of the DCIS Mid-Atlantic Field Office, would not elaborate on why the charge was dismissed. “It’s our policy neither to deny nor confirm the existence of an ongoing criminal investigation,” McMillan said.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The original version of this story, posted April 6, reported Lynch’s arrest and indictment, but did not report that the charge had been dismissed. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, when contacted April 6 about the arrest, said only that the investigation is continuing, but not that the charge had been dismissed.

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Dec. 20, 2005 — You are fighting the holiday crowds at a busy shopping mall when you look down to find that your 4-year-old, who has been at your side all morning, is missing. Even just a few seconds of separation in a store or shopping mall can put a child in harm’s way – and throw the calmest parent into a panic. Holiday shopping crowds make keeping track of a young child that much more difficult.

Also, http://www.isecuretrac.com/ is deeply involved in security, including GPS tracking.

Competition

We compete with a number of other companies that offer offender electronic
monitoring ("EM") products, including GPS-based products. The following
companies are considered by the Company to be its main competitors:

Pro Tech Monitoring, Inc. - Founded in 1995, Pro Tech is believed to have the
second largest market share for GPS offender monitoring behind iSECUREtrac. It
offers both active and passive GPS monitoring products and services.

BI Incorporated - BI is believed the largest installed base of offender
electronic monitoring devices in the United States. BI has a passive GPS product
but has not yet developed and active GPS product.

Sentinel Monitoring Services - Sentinel has a large base of EM units as well.
Its GPS monitoring device is a consumer cell phone which has been modified to
include RF capabilities.

G4S Securicor - G4S is believed to have the second largest installed based of EM
units in the United States. G4S is a reseller of GPS monitoring devices

STOP LLC - STOP, which is believed to have the smallest market share of the
competitors discussed, distributes a one-piece GPS monitoring device. STOP has
an active unit but has not yet developed a passive unit.

Vice-Chairperson
Mr. Brian L. Stafford
Consultant
Vienna, Virginia

CHICAGO, June 5 -- U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige and U.S. Secret Service Director Brian L. Stafford today released a new guide entitled Threat Assessment in Schools: A Guide to Managing Threatening Situations and to Creating Safe School Climates, during one of 12 regional training sessions being held across the country by the two agencies.

http://www.ed.gov/news/pressreleases/2002/06/06052002.html

Maybe merging the Secret Service and the Dept. of Education makes sense. After all, the SS has always accessed risk. That's what it does.

It's also possible that the greater the militarization of the schools, the greater the backlash. There are some social program recommendations, but the greater emphasis seems to be on security.

The only reason any of this matters is the potential "fear for profit" margin. If the lobbying by security companies is too influential, other, lest profitable but more effective social solutions may be passed over.

along with pictures and information about missing people (not just children) from direct marketer (and huge database) ADVO.

ADVO is currently embroiled in a dispute over another company that is seeking to disengage from a $1.3B merger agreement that also involves assuming ADVO's debts.

Yes, Mr. Leonard Roberts, Treasurer of NCMEC a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization must be professionally challenged to keep an accurate account of the financial dealings of that group.

that are very interesting-such as the US Army Chemical Corps, laser optics, artificial blood, and several other ties to military/private research centers like the former Letterman Army Hospital Reseach Lab (which can be linked to The Presidio child molestation case).

11. Well, it makes sense WHY he was named to the Board, from the VF article
Data mining was so new that no laws governed the use of the public records on which it fed. Asher could have sold his data to the public, he says, and made a lot more money while DBT was starting out, but he chose to sell it only to legitimate investigators. He was haunted, he says, by the 1989 murder of actress Rebecca Schaefer by a crazed fan who had hired an investigator to find her through the state's motor-vehicles department.

Another murder had an even more profound effect on how Asher used AutoTrack. Almost a decade earlier, all of Florida had been horrified by the abduction and gruesome killing of six-year-old Adam Walsh. To Asher, the details remained chillingly fresh. So did the public indignation of Adam's father, John Walsh, who declared that the F.B.I. was of no help and that no system was set up to track kidnapped children. Walsh had channeled his rage into the creation of a crime-stopping television show that galvanized the country.

"Hank donated AutoTrack to America's Most Wanted," says Walsh. "He made the overture to me; he wanted to get involved." AutoTrack's impact was hard to overestimate. "Typically on a Saturday night we'd have a horrible case—a very inexperienced cop who begged to get his case on America's Most Wanted," says Walsh. "We'd analyze the case on AutoTrack and say, Oh my God, that's the car we're looking for, that's the guy."

Walsh had also helped set up the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Here, too, AutoTrack proved invaluable. In 74 percent of abduction homicides, observes the center's president and C.E.O., Ernie Allen, the child is dead within the first three hours. Prior to AutoTrack, the center had been able to do little more in those critical hours than circulate pictures of missing children with a 24-hour hotline number and relay leads to overworked police officers. Now one or two tiny details of the abduction—"red pickup truck," say, or "a 3 in the license plate"—could be entered into AutoTrack and matched to a list of known sexual predators in that geographic area. Up might come a telltale name....Of the more than 100,000 cases tracked since 1990 by the center, AutoTrack and Accurint have proved helpful in literally thousands of them. Always, Walsh notes, Asher has made his systems available to the center for free. Neither for that nor for the financial contributions he's made has he sought any public recognition. "Hank doesn't want anyone to know what he gives," says Walsh, but he and the center's Ernie Allen think it's time the center's largest private donor got credit. Asher's most recent donation—only his most recent—was a reported $7.9 million.

Heck, our own government, both parties, appoint Military SERVICE SECRETARIES and AMBASSADORS for shelling out far less money than that. It's patronage, it's prestige, it's quid pro quo. I frankly don't find his position on the board surprising or odd, given his efforts and his generosity in support of the NCMEC.

I don't like the way they are using that MATRIX system, and don't trust a GOP government to use it properly, but I don't see the NCMEC board seat as connected to it, beyond the fact that the guy who invented the system also invented Autotrack and gave it to NCMEC for free.

He was a partner of Donald Trump. Trump sued Fields over issues concerning the Seminole Indian Tribe's Seminole Hard Rock Casino and other casino plans.

Mr. Richard T. Fields of Coastal Development has quite an interesting past-if I were a gambler I'd bet that Jack Abramoff had some dealings with Mr. Fields because there are many rumors about the Florida casino boat industry which the Seminole Tribe is also involved in.

and Exploited Children and sponsor of HR 5749 (which was intended to prevent electronic sexual predation of minors by adults, among other things).

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's Board of Directors deserves a good look by anyone concerned about issues related to the safety of missing and exploited children, it deserves an honest accounting of its nonprofit 501(c)(3) status, as well as a closer look at some of the background of the people and organizations in it.

There is no room for those that would corrupt the mission of that organization.

That formal announcement revealed a lot of other curious facts about Mr. Roberts, who is the person responsible for the financial dealings of the nonprofit NCMEC.

32. Good work, bob
Gang Of Perverts, or the GOP, is downright infected, eh? Remember a speech bsuh gave sometime back about child slavery rings and everyone said "WTH was that all about?" Must've been some code words...

Justice is gonna get revenge, somehow, someway, I just know it.

36. Thanks, and I couldn't agree more-there is absolutely no room for
corruption when it comes to human trafficking yet the Board of Directors of NCMEC has many representatives worthy of closer examination.

I'm really intrigued by American Student List's founder, Mr. Martin Lerner
http://www.ftc.gov/privacy/comments/pritimes.htm

and the varied interests of QuanStar's Mark N. Sirangelo.

29. Is it a racket?
Edited on Sun Oct-08-06 03:42 PM by madmusic
Many if not most, probably all, really care about children. We all do, but ever since reading that Mark Lusford http://www.pitch.com/Issues/2006-06-29/news/feature_full.html">fired two GOP operatives from a $2000/week job, I wondered, "Could this be a big advertising scheme to sell security products?" That might NOT be Lunsford's intent, but the GOP big business interests wouldn't mind taking advantage. Child protection is big business, and GPS tracking will be even bigger.

But because of Lunsford's pain and anguish, I didn't question it too much.

EDIT: NOT

33. Mark Klass attacked John Walsh last night
Edited on Sun Oct-08-06 04:23 PM by Rockstone
The father of Polly Klass.

Said how could John Walsh say "Foley will be missed" on his website?

38.  Searching Walsh Consultants Silver Spring, Maryland
will get one sidetracked into some of the front organizations of the national security community real quickly.

So does investigating some of the other NCMEC Board of Directors backgrounds- which opens all kinds of other subjects and issues as evidenced in this thread.

That national security community has many "rogue elements" including organized criminal networks.

Networks that care about finding missing people shouldn't be connected to networks that traffic them except to prosecute them, yet there are many disturbing connections that have advanced their own agendas exploiting anyone that has experienced the disappearance of a loved one.

Closure may not be possible for some, but the truth is critical for all even when it exposes corruption at the most politically powerful levels.

34. Politics blocks wider use of 'fingerprinting'
Vice-Chairperson
The Honorable Jim Lightfoot
Forensic Technology Inc.
Windermere, Florida

In the mid-1990s, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms began using a computer system that enabled law enforcement agencies to compare the markings on hundreds of thousands of bullets and shell casings recovered from crime scenes.

The system, known as the National Integrated Ballistics Information Network, was developed by the Canadian firm, Forensic Technology Inc. By the end of the year, the system will be used by 233 law enforcement agencies around the United States. The database contains 867,082 images from ballistic evidence. So far, 12,000 matches of guns and bullets have been made. An ATF spokesman said there is no way to determine how many of those matches resulted in solving a crime.

But the system's full potential has never been tapped.

Gun control advocates have pushed to expand the program to record the "fingerprint" from test firings that are conducted on every gun manufactured. Gun makers are not required to share test-firing data with the government.

The wingnuts don't mind registering people but don't want their guns registered. Why not?

The Matrix has you......

And your privacy - You don't have to be among those with a "high terrorism quotient" (HTQ) to heed the warning on Neo's computer: THE MATRIX HAS YOU.

By Henry Silverman

These words "The Matrix has you" appear on Neo's computer screen in the first film of the popular "Matrix" series.

Another Matrix short for Multistate Anti-TeRrorism Informational eXchange has us here in Michigan. It creates a serious threat to our privacy.

Matrix is a vast database created by Seisint Inc., initially intended to track potential terrorists and criminals but now federally funded as a successor to the Pentagon's notorious Total Information Awareness program nixed by Congress because of public uproar.

Seisint, a Boca Raton, Fla., company, was founded by millionaire Hank Asher, who stepped down from its board of directors last year after revelation of past ties to drug smugglers.

In launching its new criminal information project, Seisint developed a statistical method of determining an individual's propensity for terrorism. According to documents obtained by the ACLU, Matrix operators sent to federal law enforcement authorities a list of 120,000 names of individuals who had been scored with a high "terrorism quotient." Seisint claimed that many arrests have resulted from the list, though recently Seisint and the law enforcement officials who oversee Matrix insist that the terrorism scoring system is now out of the project, largely because of privacy concerns.

Very convenient BFEE science, having a "propensity" to think may soon be a prosecutable crime.

Sorry this is so late, Bob. Every time I get away from the rabbit, they call me back in.

44. There's a lot going on, the tide has turned on these criminals
and traitors.

Politics is local, that can keep anyone busy.

Yes, Mr. Asher and several of the others on the Board of Directors of NCMEC are indeed connected-and there should be no corruption in a leadership with the mission of finding the children (and adults) that have disappeared, or are being exploited.

Today more people understand that the BFEE is capable of anything.
