We were talking to friends of ours in CA last night. They are no big fans of repugs or bush, and they do watch the news

However, they were under the impression that Foley's e-mails were pretty innocuous and it seems to be blown out of proportion.

We quickly corrected them and told them we would be forwarding some of the stories regarding the instant messages and "cover-up"

the point being - don't assume that just because your friends and family agree with your views and watch the news - that they are as up to date on issues as you are...

be it the Foley scandal, or any other issue - get the information out to all your contacts

they reported that Foley had asked the boy what he wanted for his birthday and asked for his picture----as if that's all it was - uh huh

Grrr... That irritates me almost as much as the parents 'being okay with it'... If it were my child Foley would have been strung up by now. Sending an LTTE right now.

when the story first broke only a couple of e-mails were reported, and those didn't seem predatory /sexual...

my first impression was to wonder what the fuss was about too - however since we are talking about GrOPers I suspected there was more to it and waited for more shoes to drop

attitude, twisting it into an indictment against Democrats. :(

4. When the story first broke I thought the same thing

Raw Story had a few emails exchanged in their articles and felt they hardly fell into pedophilia. But as the story broken wide opened it turned out that it indeed was.
