Help DU'ers! Walmart question... |
|
I just got off the phone with the lovely young man in "Accounts". I need to pay up an overdraft bill, we settled on the amount, but now I have to go to a WALMART and pay up the account.
I got a little heated when he said that, so I didn't really hear the name of the cash service. I want to go somewhere else to pay it. Does anyone know what the name of the service is so I can go elsewhere?

1. Western Union Quick Collect might do it |
|
About 10 years ago I used to work for a copy/print shop that offered a Western Union service. There was a"Quick collect" service where you could pay towards credit cards or other corporate accounts.
You might want to check the Western Union website to see if you can pay through there.

3. If paying at walmart is a part of the terms, then go pay at walmart. |
|
why wouldn't you go pay at walmart -- you did the business with them.

5. This was an account for US Bank. Nothing to do with Walmart |
|
He just so helpfully mentioned that I could go pay at 'any walmart' without informing me of any other option.
I just called back and spoke to Linda. It's Money Gram. They're everywhere, there's one right down the street from me, and 6 others within a several block radius. :)

They have this nasty habit of simply removing the amount they think they are owed from your bank account without your permission. So if you pay them (Wal-Mart) directly, you run the chance that once money is in your account they will simply remove some of it, leaving you in the unhappy situation of having paid twice. They were nice enough to send me a refund once I had provided all evidence/proof (luckily I had kept copies of everything) that I had paid on my own, but it took a time and was stressful.
Did I mention the fact that Wal-Mart has become the store of last resort when I go shopping?

I don't have to go to Walmart after all, I can go right down the street to the bank where my account was.
Obviously they are told to sell the walmart service.
I will never walk into a walmart myself, I've been successfully avoiding them for over 5 years. :)
