Foley's Impressive Decision To Enter Rehab |
|
Kinda reminds me of Rush's decision to enter rehab, it would be a lot more impressive if they took responsibility BEFORE THEY GOT TOTALLY BUSTED...especially since they both attempted these asanine denials that just didn't fly.
Crooks & Liars....AND perverts & drug addicts too!
HEY 'VALUES VOTERS!" You got punked!

That nobody changes until they have a crisis in their lives.
That said, this sort of thing tends to cheapen recovery. It is simply a waypost for establishing a legal defense.

8. It Sounds Better Than Sexual Predator Rehab |
|
Alcoholic doesn't sound so bad, most people relate to it and have it in their families and can be sympathetic to that struggle; and it gets him hidden away from the press, when he comes out he can be all shiny brand new and "fixed."
What a ruse. I wonder if he ever mentioned drinking, having a drink in any of these correspondences. Bet not!

to enter rehab...
In order for real change to occur, the pain of change has to be less than the pain of staying where you are.

6. The thing is, when you're in rehab NOBODY can contact you |

for the first few days or so. At least that was the way they treated my ex when he was in there.
This will keep him safe from giving interviews, or being hounded by reporters, etc. I imagine he is in a very posh place with guards.
Meanwhile the R's can investigate and find him only mildly perverted and this will all blow over. When he comes out he will be penitent and "cured".
HA!

12. It's not just that. It's better to be known as an alcoholic than |
|
a sexual predator. He's substituting a dysfunctional behavior that's seen as more "normal" in some circles. Many more people have had too much to drink at one time or another in their lives than have hung around teenagers for the sole purpose of seducing them. It is a shrewd and calculated move.
Foley's transgressions should be soundly condemned and he should be left to the law. However, we need to hammer House and GOP leadership on the coverup.
