Ever bought airline tickets from priceline.com? |
|
If so, what was your experience--good, bad, or indifferent?

5. that's only true if you use their 'name your price' feature |
|
otherwise you can select both departure and return flight times. i've used priceline both ways and got really good deals by naming a price.

...and it's a good option if you can work within the limitations. That is, if you have a wide time window and don't mind the possibility that you'll end up on a redeye, etc. And if you don't mind not flying nonstop. IOW, if you have all day and night to get where you're going, and all day and night to get back.
If you are in a position where you can make the time/money tradeoff it's a good deal. They deliver on cheap tickets.
But I agree with NMDem, cheaptickets.com is where I usually start looking for a fare on any route that isn't covered by Southwest.

6. I used to take a look at |
|
it, but never have had the flexibility. I find that Expedia.com has the best prices, about 95% of the time. Occasionally the airline itself will -- always Southwest will have the lowest prices on its website. I frequently do package things on Expedia -- flights, hotel, and car, and I'll check out combinations about 17 different ways, and always return to Expedia.
Sometimes, if you are planning a last minute trip, site59 (www.site59.com) will have the best deals. However, they are limited in their destinations, and you can't plan more than about two weeks ahead with them, and I generally try to plan as far ahead as possible.
I know others who absolutely swear by other packagers, but for me, it always comes back to Expedia.

|
My experience has always been positive, and I'm pretty sure his has as well.
