And he was saying that, if Foley actually had been having sex with this 16 year old, it wouldn't be illegal, so what's the big deal? He didn't mention, of course, why it is that the republicans put someone who likes to have sex with teenagers in charge of policy on missing and exploited children. Disgusting, actually, that this fellow, who made his bones during the Clinton administration with the Lewinsky thing, now thinks that it is ok to have sex with pages--apparently it is only sex between consenting adults that bothers him.

Some folks have actually dredged up Studds here on DU, as in "This is just gay bashing" because "none of you was this worked up about Studds." We didn't have the Internets back in 1983, let alone DU.

Anyway, the having sex with the underage boys part is only part of it. Equally revealing are Foley's comments, such as "I'm never too busy" (to masturbate). There you have it: the do nothing Congress does have their hands full with other matters, less weighty though they may be.
