TN Senate: Ford: 48% Corker 43%, VA Senate: Allen 49%, Webb: 43% (Ras) |
|
New polls are out on the Tennessee and Virginia Senate Races by Rasmussen.
Tennessee has Harold Ford leading 48-43 over Corker.
Virginia has Allen leading(!) 49-43, a bit tighter than Rasmussen's last poll but a new Mason/Dixon has the race a dead-heat.

15. HOW DOES ALLEN STILL HAVE A LEAD??? |

There really is a double-standard for Republicans.
Bill Clinton cheats on his wife, and it's a National Emergency. A parade of Republican perverts, crooks and racists pop up in the news on a daily basis, and the voting public just makes excuses for them and continue to support them over "those awful Democrats".
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Dem Party is in serious need of a major PR campaign.

That's the kind of race where a lot of people may say one thing and vote another. When Ann Richards was elected governor of Texas, she was trailing by double digits in the polls, but her opponent kept saying stupid stuff (Once at a press conference, he walked out and saw that it was raining. He said "Well, you know what they say, the weather is like rape--if it's inevitable just lay back and enjoy it.")
A lot of people wanted to vote for the Republican, and told the pollsters they planned to vote for him, but on election day either couldn't do it, or couldn't bring themselves to even vote. Both those reactions are hard to measure in a poll, since they throw the demographic formulas off. It will be interesting to see what happens with Allen.
Glad to see Harold Ford leading. Hope that stands up.

7. 43%-43% this AM; things don't change THAT fast |
|
12% undecided will help Webb in northern Va. Allen is toast.

5. It would be good if Rasmussen started polling Allen behind... |
|
They already have the Senate projected at 49-49 with 3 seats as toss up. Tennessee is one of those, and I think Virginia is too. We could lose New Jersey and still gain a majority if we win all of these.

6. I call bullshit on Allen's lead. I know Virginians and though there |

may be a racist element there (there is everywhere), they are, overall, good people and fairly progressive and they don't liked beeing snookered.

comes to race. From my experience with people in both places, Allen's racist remarks and past would help him in in the much of the southern part of VA. (Many, and surely not all would be in favor of his remarks and past)

in this morning's "Republican Times Disgrace" were totally opposed to Allen. If that is any indication, he is toast.

10. Oh,it's Rasmussen......... |
|
Whew! That subject line had me worried for a while, but since I see what poll it is,I'm not that concerned about Allen being "ahead",especially by 6 points. With all the scandals Allen has been in lately I can't believe he is ahead. Not a reality.

Rasmussen also has Ford ahead by five points and has been consistently showing Dems leading or tied in PA, Ohio, MO, RI and Montana. So I don't automatically discount Rasmussen.

11. Mason-Dixon's methodology was the best so I will stick with them. |
|
They even underpolled minorities. Virginia is not 80% white as they said and they still had the race tied.
